We’ve had a fairly busy week in school this week! The junior children all had a brilliant day at Tower Wood on Tuesday – with the upper juniors spending the day sailing and the lower juniors enjoying a day of fell walking, map reading and orienteering.
We have made chutney in school this week which will be for sale next week to raise funds for our Eco School with a suggested minimum donation of £1.00 due to our varying different sized jars.
School Photographs – children in school have all had their individual and sibling photographs taken this morning. Envelopes containing proofs are enclosed in today’s Friday bag. We are strongly encouraging any parents who wish to order to do this online by Monday 10th October.
Infants Forest School – the infants will be resuming their Forest School Adventures on Monday with a visit to the wooded area here at school. They will need appropriate outdoor clothing suitable for the weather. If they have waterproof trousers please send them, as the ground is often damp even if it’s not actually raining.
Walk 2 School – our next Walk to School of this academic year is on Tuesday 4th October. As always, any children taking part will enjoy breakfast together when they arrive at school. We will meet at 8.20am in the carpark at the back of Cowan Bridge Village Stores. Please note, early morning club is still available from 8am for those children whose parents do need to get off to work earlier!
Early Morning Club – is available every morning from 8am, there is no need to book – just turn up at the office door. For insurance purposes, we aren’t able to let any children in to school before 8am.
Outdoor Education Day – on Wednesday our junior children will be heading off to Abbeystead Estate to take part in a countryside learning project. We would like to thank our PTFA for funding the cost of the coach and Countryside Learning for inviting us to take part. A full information sheet is attached.
Toddler Group Diddi Dance Stay & Play Session – Monday 17th October from 9.30am. Flyer attached – please share details to any families with pre-school aged children.
Parent Meetings – this autumn we are changing the way we hold our first parent meetings.
All parents will be asked to sign up to a 30-minute time slot on Wednesday 12th October. During this time, your child/rens books and work will be available for parents to have a look through. Class teachers will be available during this time for informal chats. Sign up sheets are available in the school hall. We are limiting numbers to 6 parents per half hour slot.
REMINDER: Annual Flu Spray – attached to the newsletter email last week was an email from Blackpool Teaching Hospitals School Age Vaccination Team regarding the Flu Nasal Spray. The consent process is now online. Please have a read and respond appropriately. The vaccination team will be in school on the morning of Tuesday 1st November to administer the nasal sprays.
SchoolMoney – end of month reminders have been sent earlier today.
PTFA Meeting – the PTFA are meeting in the school hall at 3.15pm today. If you have time to stay and contribute any ideas for the upcoming school year, please do. Money raised by the PTFA benefits ALL CHILDREN in school.
