This week in school has been a little different. We would like to thank all parents and carers for the prompt collection of children at 12noon on both Wednesday and Thursday as school closed for strike action. We understand this may have been an inconvenience, but hope that you can understand the reasons behind staff choosing to take strike action, as with other public sector workers. We hope a resolution in this dispute is found soon.
On Monday, the infants and nursery children welcomed pre-schoolers to our stay and play session. The children enjoyed playing together and themed crafts. We will have another toddler group session in the summer term.

REMINDER: Parent Help – a list of the jobs needing doing round the school grounds has been emailed to all families this week.
If any parents are able to offer an hour or so at the end of the school day, or after morning drop off please come and have a look at the list and we’re sure they’ll soon be ticked off!
This replaces our previous “parent help morning” as we realise how busy family lives can be at weekends and how important it is to spend time together.

Parent Celebration Assembly – Monday 20th March 2.45-3.15pm – parents of all children in Pen-y-ghent (green house team) are invited to our parent celebration assembly as we celebrate achievements in school and worship with our families. We will hold a celebration assembly on the third Monday of each month, alternating between the three house teams. We hope to see lots of family and friends there.

Cluster Football at Arkholme – our junior children have been invited to take part in a football tournament at Arkholme on Tuesday. There will be an upper junior and a lower junior team. A full information sheet is attached for children taking part.

Parents Meetings – our spring term round of parent meetings is on Wednesday 22nd March for children in Reception to Y6. Thank you to all who came in and signed up to a time slot. Parents who didn’t manage to get into school have had a time slot emailed to them today. If this time isn’t convenient, please see class teachers on Monday morning. Thank you.

Easter Activity Day – Wednesday 29th March – the children will need to bring in a decorated egg entry. There will be prizes for infants, lower juniors and upper juniors. They will also need a hardboiled egg for pace egging in the afternoon.
As usual, there will be a range of craft activities in the morning and in the afternoon, there is the egg challenge, followed by the Easter Egg Hunt, with a separate Easter Egg Hunt for toddlers and nursery children. Any pre-school children that might want to join in the Easter Egg Hunt are welcome to join us at 2.30pm. The day ends with our pace egg competition.

Decorated Egg Competition – this year our theme is South America. This links to our class topics in school.

School Council Bake Off – please find attached a letter from Mrs Browne and the School Council regarding a Leck Bake Off Competition on Wednesday 29th March. Please reply by Friday 24th March if your child/ren will be taking part.
