31.03.2023

What a fabulously, busy way to end the term. On Tuesday, Mrs Mather and the infant class welcomed 7 of our cluster schools to join them in a celebration of Lent. All children took part in various different activities throughout the day and everyone had a lovely day.
On Wednesday, all children enjoyed our annual Easter Activity Day, there were some amazing decorated egg entries – well done to our winners. We have added some photos to our Facebook page.
On Wednesday afternoon, the School Council organised an Easter Bake Off to raise money for the DEC Turkey & Syria Earthquake Appeal. They managed to raise an amazing £149.10. Thank you to all our families who came in and enjoyed the refreshments.

Federation – following the consultation period, the governing bodies of both Leck St Peter’s & Hornby St Margaret’s CE Primary Schools have now both voted in favour of a formal federation from 1st September 2023.

“It’s good to be back” – Monday 17th April will be our first “It’s good to be back” day. We will be linking resilience skills to our school value of forgiveness.
The aim of the day is to alleviate any stress of returning to school after a holiday by providing welcome back activities that link to our values while promoting positive mental health.
The day will begin with the whole school walking a mile together to give children time to catch up with friends, we will then have an assembly which leads into some activities designed to encourage their development of resilience. In the afternoon normal lessons will resume. Please discuss this day with your child/ren and any feedback would be much appreciated. Thank you.

Parent Celebration Assembly – our next session is with parents of Whernside (red house team) on Monday 17th April.

Walk2School – our first Walk to School of the summer term is on Tuesday 18th April. As always, any children taking part will enjoy breakfast together when they arrive at school. We will meet at 8.20am in the carpark at the back of Cowan Bridge Village Stores.

Library Bus – the library bus will be visiting on our first Tuesday back, please encourage children to remember their books to swap!

Eco-Club – Snack & Drink… will continue on a Tuesday starting after Easter.
Any children wishing to join in should bring in £4.50 in a named envelope to cover to the end May half-term.

After School Club
Eco Club – Mrs Mather will be resuming Eco Club on a Tuesday from 3.15-4.15pm starting on Tuesday 18th April. If your child/ren would like to attend please let Mrs Knapp know and payment of £12.00, to cover the half term, will be made available on SchoolMoney.

School Times – as a polite reminder school starts at 9am and finishes at 3.15pm (or 4.15pm following an after-school club). The doors are open from 8.50am and all children should be in school ready for lessons by 9am. If children arrive after 9am, they should enter via the office door.

School Uniform – we’ve noticed recently that the standards of uniform are slipping. We do have a clear uniform policy which can be found on the School Trends website. School uniform can also be ordered directly from the School Trends website and will be delivered to your home address. All children should be wearing our logo jumper and polo shirt with grey or black trousers (not joggers or leggings) and or grey or black skirt / pinafore dress or green checked summer dress. www.schooltrends.co.uk/uniform/LeckCEPrimarySchoolLA62JD
School do have a good selection of second-hand uniform, available for sale @ £1.00 per item or a donation to the PTFA.

SchoolMoney – end of month reminders have been sent to parents earlier today.

FINAL REMINDER: Annual Parental Questionnaire – as always, we are really keen to hear your views about School but this year we are doing things a little differently. PTFA Newswould like to say a huge thank you to everyone who have supported them with their Easter activities. The bunny drive was very well attended and everyone had an enjoyable evening. We managed to raise £270.00 on the night, with a further £135.00 from the number square. All money raised by the PTFA benefits all children in school, so thank you!
