Friday 30th June
Year 6 Leavers’ Evening
As many of you are aware from the diary dates on previous newsletters, Wednesday 5th July is our Year 6 Leavers Evening. The children will be bowling at Morecambe Superbowl and then enjoying a meal with dessert at Frankie & Benny’s with members of staff. They will need to arrive at Morecambe Superbowl Reception for 6pm and will need to be collected at 9.00pm. The PTFA have generously funded the Year 6 leavers meal so children will not need to bring any money on the night.
Swimming Gala
Our annual swimming gala once again takes place at Ingleton Outdoor Swimming Pool on Thursday 6th July from 1.30pm to 3.15pm. As usual, the whole school will attend with the junior children taking part in the gala and the infant children giving their support. We have arranged transport to the event but ask parents to arrange to pick their children up from the pool at 3.15pm. Please do keep an eye on the weather, nearer to the time, and send your child with appropriate clothing! An information sheet with full details is enclosed in this week’s bag.
Junior Swimming
We have organised for pupils in years 3, 4 and 5 next year to swim on Wednesday afternoons at Capernwray pool starting from September 20th. They will travel along with pupils from Hornby School and will have a half hour swimming lesson. Included in their Friday bags today is a questionnaire from Lorna Carter, who will be running the sessions. Please complete the questions and return by Monday. Thank you.
Infants
This term the infants have been studying Judith Viorist, including the story Alexander & The Terrible Horrible No Good Very Bad Day. As an end of term treat we are hoping to watch the movie, which is certificate PG, please let us know if you would prefer not. Thanks.
PTFA
There is a list in main entrance hall for mufti day contributions please have a look and put your name down against the item you’d like to donate. Let’s make it a family fun night so even if you’re not doing the walk come and join us. Please note if the weather is wet the walk will be rearranged, but the BBQ will still go ahead. Thank you, PTFA.
