Autumn Term – Edition 13

Walk to School – thank you to everyone who joined our walk to school this morning!

Leck Playgroup Visit – Leck playgroup will be visiting school on Tuesday 12th December from 9.30am – 11.30am, please feel free to stay with younger siblings and tell friends and family members.

Christmas PerformanceThursday 14th December in the school hall at 2.00pm and 6.00pm.
Please find enclosed any tickets ordered for the evening performance. The slip to request tickets is at the end of the newsletter for anyone who still needs to request tickets.
Children will be sent home with their costumes and should arrive back at school by 5.45pm dressed and ready to go.

Party Day! – our annual whole school Christmas Party Day will be on Wednesday 20th December. Normal school lunch arrangements will continue that day and instead, we are asking parents to provide a snack for the children to enjoy during the afternoon. There is a sign-up sheet of party foods / snack items in the entrance hall opposite the office so please do put your name against the food item you wish to provide- many thanks.

Leck St. Peter’s Church Carol Service – our annual Carol Service at Leck Church is on Wednesday 20th December from 6.30pm. We look forward to seeing as many parents, grandparents and friends of school there as possible.

Chapel Christmas Service – Wendy Thornton, chapel minister, has invited families to Cowan Bridge Methodist Chapel on our last day of term, Thursday 21st December at 3.30pm for a Christmas service. We will walk children down from after school club to join in; please let us know if this is required. The service will be finished by 4.30pm.

Bills, Bills, Bills – a huge thank you to all those who pay their bills promptly, it really does help us in the office. With the end of term in sight, we would appreciate it if any outstanding money for school meals, or early morning and after school club were settled by Monday 18th December to allow for banking. Any credits from this half term will carry forward as usual. Copies of any outstanding invoices are enclosed in this week’s Friday bag.

Internet Safety Advice – in the news this week the dangers of live streaming have been highlighted particularly using the apps Periscope and Omegle. School Vacancy – the school is currently advertising for an After School Club Manager to start after Christmas, to replace Mrs Dutton. This can be seen on the Lancashire school vacancies website if any qualified parents are interested in applying.

The Book People – have left a new selection of books, they’re in a box outside the office, which we’ll put in the hall on Monday morning. If you would like to order anything, please complete the form and hand your payment to me, he will be collecting on Monday. Thanks.
