We have had another great week in school; all children enjoyed their Christmas dinner on Wednesday. The junior class also had a fantastic visit from Lancaster University, which rounded off their Science topic on Earth and Space brilliantly. All children designed their own planets and enjoyed sharing them with class. Pictures have been added to our Facebook page.
Walk 2 School – Mrs Mather’s Walk 2 School was well attended again; our next walk is scheduled to take place on Tuesday 11th January from Cowan Bridge Village Stores.
Christmas Shopping – on Monday 13th December, we will be hosting a Christmas shopping event from 3.15pm. Children will have the opportunity to spend their pocket money on Christmas presents for you and/or members of your family; they will choose from a wide range of gifts and then personally wrap the present themselves. The gifts range between £3.00 & £5.00. We really hope that you will support this activity, as we believe it encourages the Christmas spirit of giving.
Fun with Maths – our final session with Lancashire Adult Learning takes place this Tuesday from 9.30am. There is still availability on the session, please let Mrs Knapp know if you would like to join.
After School Film Club – this week children will continue to watch Nativity 3: Dude, Where’s My Donkey? By way of reminder, children should be collected promptly at 4.15pm.
Christmas Performances – by way of reminder, families can only attend one performance. A number of families asked if one parent could stand at the back of the evening performance, and unfortunately this is not going to be possible. We have allocated one pew, per family, for one performance. Face coverings are now mandatory in Church, so all over 12’s will be required to wear one. We would also like to request that everyone does a lateral flow before attending to reduce the risk. We thank you in advance of your cooperation.
Christmas Party – next Thursday afternoon is our annual party day, so children can come to school in their Christmas jumper / party clothes.
Children do not need to bring anything with them as the PTFA have very generously donated party food.
PTFA Raffle – many thanks to all who supported the PTFA by sending in prizes for hampers and by buying raffle tickets. We will be drawing the raffle early next week and winners will be contacted to arrange collection.
School Money – end of month reminders will be sent out early next week to anyone with outstanding payments for Early Morning Club, Film Club and School Meals. There are a number of accounts with quite high balances from November – please can we ask that account balances are kept to a minimum. Thank you.
