We have had a busy week in school this week.
Our after-school forest school club started on Monday and was well attended. Any children who do attend are welcome to bring a spare change of clothes to change into at the end of the day to save their uniform getting dirty.  This week children made dens and played games in the woodland area.
On Tuesday, a team of junior children headed off to Tatham Fells to take part in a cluster cross country event. Our team were all fabulous and came home with second place overall. Well done Team Leck! The weather was lovely for Tower Wood. The upper juniors spent the day kayaking on the Lake and the lower junior children did a mixture of tree climbing / high ropes and canoeing. All the children had a wonderful day and were brilliantly behaved.

Class Newsletters – please find attached a separate infant and junior class newsletter giving you specific information on the focus of studies for this term.

EYFS – the children will be taking it in turns to bring home a fine motor skills bag with lots of fun activities to help strengthen finger muscles with precise movements. The bag will go home on a Friday and can be kept until the following Thursday. Please speak to Mrs Mather if you need any help with this.

KS1 – each week a different child will be sent home with an author fact file to complete at home about their favourite author. They can then share these in school and we will read the book together.

Walk 2 School – our next Walk to School is on Tuesday 3rd February. As always, any children taking part will enjoy breakfast together when they arrive at school. We will meet at 8.20am in the carpark at the back of Cowan Bridge Village Stores.

Infants Hall Farm – Mrs Mather has rearranged the Hall Farm trip for the infant class for Tuesday 3rd May. A full information sheet is attached. Thank you to the parent volunteers who have enabled us to keep this trip free of charge.

Platinum Jubilee Celebrations – we have started to think about our celebrations for the Platinum Jubilee and more information will follow, but in the first instance please can families start to collect coins / loose change with the Queen’s face on for a special art project. Children can bring the coins into school – we have a box for them to deposit them. Thank you.

Young Voices – parent tickets for Young Voices have arrived. Please can parents now pay for any tickets they originally ordered. Mrs Knapp has the list if you are unsure of what you have ordered, please ask.
They are £20.00 each and can be paid by cash or cheque made payable to Leck St Peters. Many thanks.

PTFA News

AGM – we will be holding our AGM on either Monday 23rd or Tuesday 24th May – please can parents let us know which date is better suited for them and we will arrange a time and place to suit. There will be various roles to allocate for September 2022, including chair person, vice chair and secretary. Without these vital roles the PTFA will not be able to operate. All money raised by the PTFA benefits all children in school.
Jumble Sale
– a huge thank you to all the volunteers who helped at the jumble sale. We cannot run events without enough volunteers so all help is very greatly appreciated.
Platinum Jubilee Tea Towels – jubilee tea towels have no been ordered. If you have yet to pay, please send it in. The printers have said any last minute additions can be emailed to him by Monday, so if you thought you’d missed out but would like to order one please email Mrs Knapp.
Film NightFriday 6th May – 3.15-5.30pm – rescheduled from Friday 4th March.
Tuck Shop – sweet cones will be available for sale at £1.00 per cone next Friday at the end of the school day for any child/ren who aren’t staying for the Film Night.
