We have had a fairly quiet week in school this week. Our Y4 children have this week completed the first Multiplication Check, we have told them these tests are nothing to worry about, but we are so pleased with the mature way in which the children handled them. Well done Y4!
Walk 2 School – our next Walk to School is on Tuesday 21st June. As always, any children taking part will enjoy breakfast together when they arrive at school. We will meet at 8.20am in the carpark at the back of Cowan Bridge Village Stores.
Edinburgh Trip – please remember all children going to Edinburgh will need to be in school ready to get on the bus at 8.45am on Wednesday. A packed lunch will also be needed for the first day.
If any children require medication during the trip, please come to school on Wednesday morning with to sign a medical form and hand to Mr Stafford-Roberts. Thank you.
We hope all the children going have a fantastic time.
Infants Forest School – the infants will be continuing their Forest School Adventures on Thursday afternoon with a visit to the wooded area here at school. They will need appropriate clothing suitable for the weather.
Westmorland Farm Open Day – the Westmorland County Agricultural Society have very kindly invited our juniors to a farm open day at Heaves Farm on Tuesday 28th June. Transport to and from the event will be provided by coach companies arranged through the Society. Children therefore need only bring a packed lunch. A full information sheet will be attached next week.
Gardening Club – any children who attended the after-school gardening club in February and March are invited to Gresgarth Hall Gardens, Caton, Lancaster, LA2 9NB on Tuesday 28th June from 3.30-4.30pm. Children will need to make their own way to and from the gardens. If this will be a problem please let us know and we can try to pool some families together.
Whole School Trip – Fleetwood – 13th July – we have planned for all children from Reception through to Y6 to attend a whole school trip to Fleetwood. The KS2 children will be visiting Glazey Days, whilst the Infant children will visit Fleetwood Museum. These two visits tie in with our current curriculum topics. We will then meet together for lunch.
The PTFA have very kindly agreed to cover the cost of the coach for the trip, therefore leaving a cost to parents of £10.00 per child for the KS2 visit and £2.50 per child for the Infant visit. There will also be an optional lunch (Fish & Chips) – we are currently costing it out, but do not anticipate it to be more than £4.00 per portion.
REMINDER: School Uniform – we’ve noticed recently that the standards of uniform are slipping. We do have a clear uniform policy which can be found on the School Trends website.
Parents may also like to start thinking of putting in their uniform orders for September as there can sometimes be quite a wait when all the orders get put in at once.
Children should be arriving at school wearing:
- Leck logo sweatshirt
- Leck logo polo shirt
- Black or grey trousers or shorts for boys
- Black or grey trousers or skirt for girls (not leggings)
- Green checked dress (no other colours)
- Black school shoes
Children will need a pair of outdoor shoes / wellies in school which can be worn for outside play, but school shoes must be worn inside from September, no slippers or pumps. Please note this is a change from our current practice.
For PE children should wear:
- Leck logo t-shirt
- Black or blue shorts or joggers
The PTFA do have a seconds box of school uniform if anyone would like to come and have a look through please pop into the office. Items are all priced at £1.
REMINDER: School Money – there are still a couple of accounts with balances from last financial year. Please try to make payments as soon as possible. If you are struggling to log in please ask Mrs Knapp.
