Welcome back to school, and welcome to all our new children! It has been lovely to see our children return to school today, they have all settled back in well and seem happy to be back surrounded by friends.
We are looking forward to welcoming all our Reception children alongside Isaac and Celia into Nursery next week. On Monday we will also have two new children start with us, Thomas will be joining Y4 and Charlotte will join Y1. We are sure they will be very happy here at Leck.
It is our intention to continue to email the newsletter and all other school information, although when there are forms to be filled we will send a Friday bag, which should be returned the following Monday.
Uniform Reminder – please wear full school uniform every day, and remember our new rule of arriving in school shoes, with different footwear to change into at break and lunch times (eg trainers, wellies) – these can be left in school in your shoe box as before.
Class Newsletter – please find attached an infant and junior class newsletter giving you specific information on the focus of studies for this term.
Reception – please can all Reception children bring in a photograph of their family next week. Thank you.
WOW Moments – all EYFS children will come home with a WOW moments sheet to fill in with something amazing they have done at home.
Healthy Snacks – all junior children are encouraged to bring a healthy snack to enjoy at morning playtime. We request that this is one of their five portions of fruit or veg a day. Any undesirable snacks will be sent home.
Morecambe Football – football sessions resume next Tuesday afternoon. Please can we ask all parents to ensure their children have the correct outdoor PE kit in school. We intend to be outside during our lesson, whatever the weather, so please have tracksuit bottoms and a jumper in their kit just in case.
Swimming Lessons – will begin on Thursday 15th September for Y3, 4 & 5 so please ensure that your child has their swimming kit with them, and every week. Boys should wear skin tight swimming trunks (not shorts), and girls should be wearing costumes with their hair tied back or swimming caps wherever possible.
After School Club –
Mindfulness Club – Mrs Mather will be starting a Mindfulness club on a Monday from 3.15-4.15pm starting on Monday 12th September. This will include a variety of different activities including games, crafts, walks and food. If your child/ren would like to attend please let Mrs Knapp know and send payment of £12.00 to cover the half term.
Music Club – there is a possibility of an after school music club ran by More Music from Tuesday 13th September – Tuesday 18th October. This club will only be able to run if we have enough children wanting to attend to cover the £50 cost per week.
