We’ve had a brilliant week to end the half-term! This week, the eggs hatched in the junior classroom! As part of our current science topic, Mrs Mather and the junior children have taken care of some pheasant and partridge eggs, and were delighted to see they had hatched on Monday morning. This week all children in school have enjoyed watching them eat, play and grow. Some children also braved a quick hold. Thank you to Sophia and her family for the eggs and loan of all the required equipment.
On Wednesday, our junior children went to St Mary’s Church in Kirkby Lonsdale to explore the labyrinth and have a go at making their own hand labyrinth.
Thank you to the parents who came in to school on Wednesday evening as Mr Stafford-Roberts held a meeting regarding the Malham residential. Kit lists and itinerary are coming home with children today if you were unable to attend the meeting. Final balances for Malham need to be paid by the end of this month. Reminders for outstanding SchoolMoney accounts have been sent earlier today.
Children were all very excited to meet Bishop Phillip this morning, who delivered a wonderful worship.

REMINDER: Parent Governor Nominations – on the new federated governing body, there are places for 2 parent governors – one from each school. Nomination forms were sent home a couple of weeks ago. If you wish to put yourself forward, please fill out the form and return by 12noon on Monday 5th June.

Kwik Cricket @ Over Kellet – some of our upper junior children will be taking part in a Kwik Cricket competition at Over Kellet Primary School on Thursday 8th June. A full information sheet is attached for those taking part.

30 Days of Wild – children will be coming home with a letter regarding The Wildlife Trusts 30 Days of Wild which we will be taking part in throughout June. The challenges do start over half-term for children to get stuck in to.

Eco-Club – Drink and Snack… will continue on a Tuesday after half term. Any children wishing to join in should bring in £5.00 in a named envelope on Monday, to cover to the end of term.

School Times – as a polite reminder school starts at 9am and finishes at 3.15pm. The doors are open from 8.50am and all children should be in school ready for lessons by 9am. If children arrive after 9am, they should enter via the office door. Children should be collected at 12noon (nursery) or 3.15pm from the playground.

Orchard Toys – if any parents are having a clear out over the half-term break, we are on the lookout for some Orchard Toys maths and literacy games. Please consider donating them to school if you have any your child/ren might have outgrown. Thank you.
