23.06.2023

What a great week we have had! It was strangely quiet from 9.15am on Monday, as our junior class embarked on their residential visit to Malham. It has been really lovely to hear the children excitedly retell their adventures. They enjoyed pond dipping, a visit to Skipton Castle and White Scar Caves, as well as spending time with their friends.
On Wednesday the infant class invited our 2023 Reception starters in to school again, where they enjoyed lunch.

Outdoor After School Club – please note due to prior commitments there will be no club this Tuesday.

PE Kit – we are now half way through the last half term in school, and still there are a lot of PE kits which aren’t back in school. Children then have to do PE in their school uniform, or spares, which is not ideal. Please send all kit back in to school on Monday.

End of the Day Reminder – school finishes at 3.15pm. Classroom doors will now close at 3.20pm and any children who are late being picked up should be collected from the office door. If you get held up, or stuck in traffic, please phone school to keep us informed. Thank you.

Eco-Club – Drink and Snack… will continue on a Tuesday. Any children wishing to join in should bring in £3.50 in a named envelope on Monday, to cover to the end of term.

Fruit Mocktails – on Friday 30th June our lower junior children will be working in teams to create delicious fruit cocktails, advertised with a persuasive poster and a video advert. The juices will be randomly priced under £1 and all children in school are welcome to bring some loose change to purchase one of these delicious concoctions at break time. The children will be carefully measuring out the liquids and working out what change is needed for each purchase. We wonder which team will sell the most?

French Day – Tuesday 4th July is our French fashion show! This is our third French day for this year and our focus is food and clothes. Children are invited to wear their own clothes that day to stroll down the catwalk in. They will visit the French cafe where they can order a breakfast snack by speaking French. We are asking for a donation of £2 per child or £3 per family for this day.

Whole School Trip – this year for our whole school trip we are going on a journey. We will be leaving school via coach to Haverthwaite where we will hop on the train to Lakeside and visit the Lakes Aquarium before catching the boat across the Lake.
The PTFA have very kindly agreed to fund the cost of the coach.
The cost of the trip of is £16.85 per pupil and payment can be made online via SchoolMoney. Thank you.

30 Days of Wild – in school all children have been enjoying taking part in the 30 Days of Wild, this week our activities have included reading a book in the grass, dancing in the rain and learnt about reptiles in the UK.
If children wish to take part over the weekend, the activities for #30dayswild include:
Saturday 24th June – making your own binoculars
Sunday 25th June – get into birdwatching

REMINDER: Trophies – please can all trophies be returned to school ready for our end of year awards. An email was sent earlier in the week, thank you to those who have already returned.
