12.01.2024

We have had a lovely first full week in school. Our after-school clubs returned this week, with Herbalist Club on Tuesday – children made marshmallows this week. There are spaces for new students to join – from aged 7+, every Tuesday 3.15-4.45pm. Please email me if your child/ren would like to attend. On Wednesday, dance club started. The children all had a brilliant time and there were some great dance moves and twirling going on! Again, there is still space available if anyone would like to join (Y1-6).

REMINDER: Housekeeping – as we start the new term, we thought it might be a good idea to run through a few school reminders.
School starts promptly at 9am – doors are open from 8.50am and all children should be in school, sat at their tables ready for lessons by 9am.
School finishes at 3.15pm – unless children are booked in to one of the two current after school clubs – herbalist club on a Tuesday which finishes at 4.45pm or dance on a Wednesday which finishes at 4.15pm.
Our uniform is straightforward – a school jumper or cardigan in our school colour, collared T-shirt and black or grey trousers, shorts or skirt. All children need their correct PE kit in school – school PE T-shirt and sweatshirt, blue or black shorts, trainers or pumps. A spare pair of socks would also be very handy!
All children (both girls and boys) with hair which is long enough to be tied up should come to school with their hair brushed and tied up neatly, all fringes should be clipped back from around their face if they are beyond eye level. Thank you.

Class Newsletters – please find attached a separate infant and junior class newsletter giving you specific information on the focus of studies for this term.

Walk 2 School – our first Walk to School of 2024 is arranged for Tuesday 16th January. As always, any children taking part will enjoy breakfast together when they arrive at school. We will meet at 8.20am in the carpark at the back of Cowan Bridge Village Stores.

Library Bus – the library bus is due to visit on Tuesday lunchtime, please help children to remember to bring their books to change or renew. Thank you.

KS1 Multi Skills – our Y1 & 2 children will be attending a Multi Skills event at Carnforth High School on Tuesday 23rd January. Please make sure the children have their PE kit in school along with a warm sweatshirt and jogging bottoms. They should also bring a named bottle of water. Thank you. A full information sheet will be attached next week.

Welfare Assistant – we are still looking for a welfare assistant, are you or anyone you know interested?  We need someone to help serve meals and supervise the children during their midday break.  The vacancy is term time only covering Monday-Friday from 11.45am – 1.15pm.  Please contact the office for more details.
