Welcome back! It has been lovely to see all our children return to school this week, they have all settled back in well and seem happy to be back surrounded by friends.
The children were introduced to our school vision Belonging, Believing, Succeeding Together on Wednesday with Mrs Davison. The children had some fantastic ideas about what this means to them and to us as a school.
Our shared vision is for every individual within our school community to achieve their potential, valuing each person as created in the image of God and therefore of infinite worth. We believe that in belonging we are connected and have a shared belief, ownership and responsibility in the success of ourselves and others.

Forms – all parents will find a form titled Data Collection Sheet in their child’s bag. Please complete and return to school by Monday.
It is important we have the most up-to-date information, so please do let us know if anything changes during the year, particularly mobile phone numbers and email addresses as these are our preferred ways of contacting you. Thank you.

Photograph Permission – previously, you will have been sent a form requesting permission for photographs which we advised would last the entirety of your child/ren’s time here at Leck. If you would like to change the permissions we have or are unsure of the permissions given, please contact Mrs Knapp.
We will only include photographs of children on our Facebook page, website and local newspapers who we have received permission for.

School Value – our value for this half-term is “faithfulness”. Assemblies and class worship will be focused on this value and children in school who show joy will be celebrated. Our school value changes every half-term.

Walk 2 School – our first Walk to School of this academic year is on Tuesday 10th September. As always, any children taking part will enjoy breakfast together when they arrive at school. We will meet at 8.20am in the carpark at the back of Cowan Bridge Village Stores. Please note, some children can be left with staff to walk up to school if you are rushing off to work – however, we are always very grateful to those parents who do stay and walk up with us as extra helpers!

Eco-Club – Hot Chocolate and… will resume on Tuesday. Any children wishing to have hot chocolate and a snack on a Tuesday morning should bring in £5.25 in a named envelope which will cover the seven weeks to half term.

Swimming Lessons – begin this Thursday for Y3, 4 & 5 so please ensure that your child has their swimming kit with them, and every week. There is a goggles permission letter from Lune Valley Swimming Pool attached, if you wish your child to wear goggles please ensure the letter is signed and returned before Thursday.

Infants Hornby Castle Trip – 25th September – our infant children (R, Y1 & Y2) will be visiting Hornby Castle on Wednesday 25th September to aid their current topic work.
We are asking all parents to drop off (9.15am) and collect (3pm) from Hornby St Margaret’s CE Primary School – this will allow any junior siblings to be dropped off at Leck as normal.
Our Nursery will therefore be closed on 25th September. Children will be able to choose an alternative day to attend that week.

Healthy Snacks – all junior children are encouraged to bring a healthy snack to enjoy at morning playtime. We request that this is one of their five portions of fruit or veg a day. Any undesirable snacks will be sent home.
