Welcome back, we hope you all enjoyed the half-term break! We have had a great week back in school. On Monday, the whole school welcomed a couple of lambs – we were able to pet them, and some children got to feed them. Thank you to Will for bringing them down for us 😊 We also had our ‘Welcome Back’ morning, which was a nice, chilled way to return to school. We were able to catch up with friends and spend some time thinking about our school value for the half-term ahead.

Housekeeping – we would just like to send a few gentle reminders about our expectations of presentation. Our uniform is simple, a school jumper or cardigan in our school colour, collared T-shirt and black or grey trousers, shorts or skirt. All children need a pair of school shoes and a pair of shoes to wear outside. Children need their correct PE kit in school at all times – school PE T-shirt and sweatshirt, blue or black shorts, trainers or pumps. A spare pair of socks would also be handy!
All children (both girls and boys) with hair which is long enough to be tied up should come to school with their hair brushed and tied up neatly, all fringes should be clipped back from around their face if they are beyond eye level.
No child should be coming to school wearing makeup. Children are permitted to wear one pair of simple stud earrings, not hoops. These must be taken out for PE and swimming. Thank you.

Infant Show & Tell – will continue on Monday. We are looking forward to seeing what Jasper would like to bring to school to share with friends.

Tower Wood – all junior children will be heading to Tower Wood on Wednesday 5th March – a consent letter, including photograph permissions and kit list was sent home with children before half-term and earlier this week.
We should not have to be sending information numerous times – we understand that on occasions, things get misplaced, however please do consider the cost implications this has on school and our resources. Please come to the office next time and we can print a copy to be filled out there and then. Thank you.

REMINDER: The Big Sing Workshop – please can all junior parents drop their children off at Hornby St Margaret’s on Thursday 6th March for 9am, as previously communicated.  Collection will be from Leck as usual at 3.30pm following the workshop. Children will swim as normal, so please help them to remember their kit. Thank you.

School Value – our Christian value for last half-term was “self-control”. In school we have celebrated children who have shown self-control in various different ways; well done to our stars of the week  during Spring term 1:

This half-term our Christan value is “perseverance”. We would love to celebrate examples of our children living out the Christian value at home. Certificates can be obtained from either classroom or in the entrance to school. Simply fill it in and then send into school so that Mrs Davison can present them in our Friday Celebration and Praise assembly.

Cluster Netball Tournament – some of our junior children will be taking part in a cluster netball tournament at Carnforth High School on Thursday 13th March. A letter with more information will be coming home today with children who are participating.
Mrs Jones will be doing a couple of lunchtime practices for the team, on Friday 7th & Wednesday 12th March – other KS2 children can join in if they wish.

Gardening Club – Mrs Mather will be restarting the gardening club on Monday lunchtime – if any parents/carers / grandparents / family / friends etc. would like to help please let us know.   Any children wishing to join in should bring a pair of wellies. Thank you.

SchoolMoney – end of month reminders were sent earlier today. There are a couple of accounts with balances dating back to the beginning of December – we would be grateful if these could be cleared ASAP. The second installement for the Upper Junior residential is also due today.
One common SchoolMoney Support enquiry is about parental login issues. The free SchoolMoney app solves this by removing the need for passwords! It’s easy to set up, works on both Android and Apple, and enhances the user experience!
App benefits:
• Easy mobile number login – no need for passwords or emails.
• Always signed in – no repeated logins for payments.
• Supports Google Pay and Apple Pay (where available).
• Access to Payments, Bookings, Messages, Noticeboards & Calendars.
• Linked sibling payments, even across different SchoolMoney schools.
