To all our wonderful Year 6 children
You have been absolutely amazing this week and we could not be prouder of you all. You have taken your SATs in your stride, working hard and showing maturity and resilience. Have a lovely weekend, you have earned it!
This mornings in school this week have been relatively quiet, however we have managed to fit in some lovely things in the afternoons. On Monday, children across school took park in Country Fest activities, with the infants focusing on “from field to fork” and the juniors “what goes on beneath the soil”. All children’s artwork will be displayed at Country Fest which is taking place on Saturday 31st May & Sunday 1st June.
On Tuesday, we had another very quiet Walk2School, with just 2 children joining Mrs Knapp for the walk up to school. Children enjoyed pain au chocolate and fruit for breakfast. Our next Walk2School is planned for Tuesday 10th June.
And finally, today, we have belatedly celebrated World Book Day. It has been lovely to see the effort all the children and staff have put into their costumes and/or props. We have enjoyed various quizzes, book related orienteering and spending some time reading with our friends.
Orienteering – a team of KS1 children will be heading to Quernmore on Wednesday to take part in a fun filled morning of Orienteering. A separate email will follow for the children taking part.
Parents Meeting – Brathay – Mrs Davison is holding an information session for all parents of pupils going on the Residential Trip in June. The meeting will be held at Hornby St Margaret’s on Wednesday at 2.30pm, please try to attend.
Leighton Moss – Friday 23rd May – children across school will be taking part in an educational visit to Leighton Moss next Friday, a separate email will follow.
REMINDER: Early Morning Club – recently, we have noticed a downward trend of early morning club attendance, which is something which cannot be sustained within our school budget.
Early morning club is available to all children (nursery through to Y6) from 8am, and children can take part in various activities, we would also welcome any ideas from children about what they would like to do. Please send any suggestions from children via email.
REMINDER: Churchyard – a group of volunteers from the Church have been clearing the Churchyard and have noticed a few gaps in the stone wall between the school and the field and wondered if there were any parents with the skills to help fix these. Please email me if you can help at all. Thank you in advance.
Personal Achievements – this week in assembly, Mrs Davison was pleased to celebrate:
- Tyler – for completing the 3 Peaks last weekend.
- Freya F – for showing forgiveness at home.
well done children.
All children are encouraged to bring any recent outside of school achievements into school. We look forward to seeing what the children get up to and enjoy outside of school.
PTFA News – a few members of the PTFA met on Thursday to discuss plans for this term.
Jumble Sale – we have a Jumble Sale at Ingleton Community Centre booked for Saturday 21st June – we will need lots of volunteers, please let us know if you are able to help – these are huge fundraisers!
We will also require donations of jumble, but don’t have much storage at school, so please do keep hold of items for us – we will do a collection a little closer to the date.
Tuck Shop – Friday 23rd May – end of term sweet treats – 50p bags of sweets will be available from the PTFA tuck shop at the end of the school day.
