We’ve had a lovely first week back. We hope everyone enjoyed the half-term break and is ready to go for the final half-term of the year.
During our welcome back morning, children spent some time catching up with friends and telling us about their half term holidays, we also looked at our hopes for the summer term.
On Monday, Mrs Mather reintroduced The Wildlife Trusts ‘30 days wild’, from learning about nature to creating wild spaces, there’s something simple that everyone can do to bring nature into their lives. This week we did a minibeast hunt, where we counted how many different minibeasts we could find on school grounds, slug and snail racing and searched for various habitats around school.
On Thursday the juniors enjoyed their visit to Rigmaden Estate – we weren’t quite as lucky with the weather, but we enjoyed an adventure walk in the woods, sketching the landscape and creating collages from natural items we found.
Y1 / Y2 Homework – please could all parent / carers check their child’s maths folders for new number fact sheets. Thank you.
School Council – Leck’s Got Talent – children are bringing home a flyer about the school council talent show – please look out for it and return the participation slip.
PE Kits – please help your child/ren to remember to return their PE kit to school. It is always sent home at the end of half-term for a wash but does need returning on the first day back to stay in school for the half term ahead.
Eco-Club – Snack & Drink… continues on Tuesday. Any children wishing to join in should bring in £5.00 in a named envelope which will cover them to the end of this academic year.
Arts Week – Mrs Tidd has been busy behind the scenes planning a wonderful week of Arts activities which is taking place between 16th – 20th June. Please can all children bring in an old top which may end up getting a little ‘arty’ throughout the week but will save their uniform for the rest of term.
Whole School Photograph – our annual summer term whole school photo will be taking place on Monday 16th June. Please can we ensure all children, including Y6, have their school jumper in school.
Juniors Athletics Event – all our junior children have been invited to take part in an Athletics event at Sedbergh Prep School on Wednesday 18th June. This event will be taking place from 2pm – 4.45pm, with children expecting to return to school at 5.15pm.
Personal Achievements – this week in assembly, we were pleased to celebrate:
- Leo – swimming award
- Leo & Eirlys – Country Fest rosette winners
well done, we’re so proud of you. All children are encouraged to bring any recent outside of school achievements into school. We look forward to seeing what the children get up to and enjoy outside of school.
SchoolMoney – end of month reminders were sent at the beginning of the week. There are still a couple of accounts with balances from last financial year. Please try to make payments as soon as possible. If you are struggling to log in please ask Mrs Knapp.
PTFA News –
Jumble Sale – we have a Jumble Sale at Ingleton Community Centre booked for Saturday 21st June – we will need lots of volunteers, please let us know if you are able to help – these are huge fundraisers!
We will also require donations of jumble, but don’t have much storage at school, so please do keep hold of items for us – we will do a collection a little closer to the date.
