We have had a great week in school. On Tuesday, we had a record Walk 2 School with 22 children taking part! It was cold, but the views and the breakfast on arrival were definitely worth it!
Wow! I’m sure you will all agree how fantastically well all the children did to pull out 2 show stopping performances on Wednesday. It was lovely to welcome all our families back into school to watch. We would like to say a very big thank you and well done to all the staff who gave up their valuable time to rehearsals and making costumes and scenery.
On Thursday, all children enjoyed Christmas Lunch together, it was lovely to see them all enjoying their food with friends and staff.

REMINDER: Eco School – the daffodil planters which have been lovingly planted by Mrs Mather and the Eco Club children are ready for collection. Please see Mrs Mather at the end of the day on Monday or Tuesday. Thank you.

Christmas Post Box – the post box is now open for children to send Christmas cards to each other. Please ensure the envelopes are clearly named with the recipient’s full name and class so our posties are able to deliver!

Carol Service – our annual Carol Service at Leck Church is on Monday 12th December from 6.00pm.  All children are expected to attend the Carol Service wearing their school uniform and should arrive for 5.50pm. We look forward to seeing as many parents, grandparents and friends of school there as possible.

Christmas Shopping – on Tuesday 13th December, we will be hosting a Christmas shopping event from 3.15pm. Children will have the opportunity to spend their pocket money on Christmas presents for you and/or members of your family; they will choose from a wide range of gifts and then personally wrap the present themselves. The gifts range between £3.00 & £5.00. We really hope that you will support this activity, as we believe it encourages the Christmas spirit of giving.

Christmas Pantomime – this year, the whole school will be watching “Robin Hood” at the Dukes Theatre on Wednesday 14th December.  A full information sheet is attached. Please be aware we do arrive back to school later than usual at approx. 4pm.
The total cost of the trip would have been in the region of £15.00, but as the PTFA have kindly agreed to fund the transport, and we received a generous donation from a former member of our school community which has funded the £10.50 ticket cost.  We would like to thank them both for making this a free school trip for all the children.

School Council Pyjama Party – the school council has arranged a PJ party for Friday 16th December. Pupils are invited to wear pyjamas, a Christmas jumper, and a Rudolph red nose (that can be painted or drawn on). The school council has arranged a Christmas movie with refreshments kindly provided by the Goat Gap Café and Mrs Browne. For all this it will cost £1.00 per pupil. The school council have decided to donate the proceeds to Red Nose Day in March / April 2023.

Stamps – we have a large quantity of the new barcoded stamps in the office – if you would like to buy any at the current cost, please pop into the office and we can sell them – just in time for the Christmas cards! 95p First Class and 68p Second Class.

REMINDER: Raffle Tickets – all sold, and unsold, tickets should have been returned to the office today. Please send them in on Monday if you haven’t already done so. The PTFA have worked really hard to get some fantastic prizes, so we would like to raise as much money as possible.

Carrier Bags – please can all children bring in a named carrier bag next week.

Scarlet Fever & Strep A – please find attached some guidance. We are not wanting to alarm any families but we are just wanting to highlight the symptoms as there are cases locally.
