What a fabulously sunny fun-filled first week back! We hope everyone enjoyed the half-term break and is ready to go for the final half-term of the year.
On Monday morning, we had our whole school photograph taken by Abbey from Tempest. All children will be coming home with an envelope. Please use the online ordering facility before Friday 23rd June – photographs will still be sent in to school and we will then distribute to parents. Thank you.
On Tuesday morning, 16 children joined Mrs Mather for Walk2School. Our next Walk2School will be on Tuesday 4th July.
On Thursday, Mrs Elliott took a team of upper juniors out to the cluster Kwik Cricket Tournament at Over Kellet. Our children showed great sportsmanship, worked really well as a team and ended up bringing home the trophy! Well done team, we are all really proud of you!
On Friday, we welcomed Leo to nursery. Leo will be joining our Reception class in September and we are certain he will be very happy here at Leck.

Parent Governor Nominations – we didn’t get any nominations for a place on the new federated governing body, so there are still places for 2 parent governors – one from each school. Please see the attached nomination form and return by Friday 16th June.

Tower Wood – next Tuesday the junior class will be visiting Tower Wood Outdoor Centre. This activity centre on the shores of Lake Windermere offers a wide range of both land and water-based activities, perfect for a day’s adventure!  There will be no charge for these trips, school will be covering the cost of both transport and instructors. Children should wear their own warm clothes, outdoor shoes or boots and will need a waterproof coat.  Waterproof trousers would also be useful if they have them. They will require a packed lunch. Upper junior children will be sailing all day, whilst the lower juniors will spend some of the day kayaking and the rest of the day orienteering.
We have a full day planned and will not be back at school until 5.15pm.  An information sheet is attached. Should anyone have any concerns or queries please speak to Mr Stafford-Roberts.

Outdoor After School Club – Mrs Mather has had a volunteer come forward to assist with running an after-school club as part of her Duke of Edinburgh award. This will take place on a Tuesday after school from 3.15-4.15pm prompt.  Due to trips and residentials, we are aware that children will not be able to commit to every week, so we will do this on an ad-hoc basis. Any children wishing to attend should bring £2.00 on the day. Please note due to prior appointments there will be no club on Tuesday 27th June.

Eco-Club – Drink and Snack… will continue on a Tuesday. This week children enjoyed ice cream and fruit juice. Any children wishing to join in should bring in £4.50 in a named envelope on Monday, to cover to the end of term.

Orchard Toys – we are on the lookout for some Orchard Toys maths and literacy games. Please consider donating them to school if you have any your child/ren might have outgrown. Thank you.

30 Days of Wild – in school all children have been enjoying taking part in the 30 Days of Wil, this week our activities have included making wild sculptures and going on a senses walk.
If children wish to take part the weekend activities for #30dayswild include:
Saturday 10th June – watch a wild webcam www.wildlifetrusts.org/webcams
Sunday 11th June – make a mini pond.
