We have had a busy week in school. On Tuesday morning children in school all had their individual and sibling photographs taken. Proofs are coming home with children today. We are strongly encouraging any parents who wish to order to do this online by Friday 27th October.
It was lovely to welcome so many parents into school on Wednesday for Parent Meetings. We hope you all enjoyed looking through your children’s work. Teachers really do value this time to catch up with parents, but please remember if at any other time you would like to speak to a teacher about your child/ren you can arrange a mutually convenient appointment for after school.

REMINDER: Year 5 & 6 Residential – last week a letter was attached to the newsletter email regarding the upcoming residential trip to Edinburgh.  Please complete the form on the back of the letter and return with your deposit as soon as possible.  We appreciate that the trip may seem a while away but we need to confirm numbers and begin payment plans soon.

Infants Outdoor Education Day – all our infant children will be taking part in an outdoor education day at Borwick Hall Education Centre on Monday – a full information sheet is attached.  Children will need to come to school with a packed lunch dressed in appropriate clothing for the weather, with a spare change of clothes and a towel in their rucksack.

KS1 Athletics – a group of eight KS1 children have been invited to take part in an athletics event at Carnforth High School, with our cluster of schools. An information sheet is attached for those children who expressed an interest in taking part. Please not children will need their PE kit and a packed lunch.

Christmas Card Fundraiser – children have been busy in school this week designing their Christmas Cards which has always proved a great fundraiser for school. Parents are invited in to school at the end of the day next Wednesday to have a look at their child/rens designs and order if you wish. Proofs need to be sent off prior to the half term break. A pricing list is attached.

CANCELLED: Maths Curriculum Information Meeting – with apologies to the three families who responded, the maths information evening has been cancelled due to little uptake.

Footwear – to clear up any confusion, we just thought we would be clear with the footwear expectations in school. On a daily basis, children need a pair of black school shoes, to wear in and around school, and then a pair of weather appropriate outdoor shoes/trainers/wellies which can get wet / mucky in and around the playground and field. All children should also have a pair of trainers or pumps for PE, which should remain in their PE kit at all times. Please ensure all children have these going forward.
