Another fab week in school has whizzed by! At the start of the week, we welcomed Emma to the junior class, in Year 5, she has settled in beautifully and we are sure she will be very happy here at Leck. On Monday, we welcomed the ‘Ladies in Pigs’ team to school who ran two different sessions with children to teach them all about farm to fork, learn about where food comes from and how farmers work to produce British high welfare food. The infant class made sausage rolls and the juniors made pork, sage and plum pasties – the smells were amazing! We hope the children all enjoyed the session as much as we did!
On Tuesday, our upper juniors enjoyed their caving day. The children worked together as a team, many pushing themselves further than they thought and overcoming fears. Well done Y5 & 6.

Parent Meetings – an email has been sent to all parents with their appointment time for our Spring term round of parent meetings. We expect to meet all parents in school at their allocated time unless we hear from you otherwise.
Teachers really do value this time to speak to parents/carers, however they are on a strict time schedule of 10-minute slots to ensure they get round all the children in school.

Walk 2 School – our next Walk to School is this Tuesday. As always, any children taking part will enjoy breakfast together when they arrive at school. We will meet at 8.20am in the carpark at the back of Cowan Bridge Village Stores.

Infants Forest School – the infants will be resuming their Forest School Adventures on Tuesday with a visit to the wooded area here at school. They should come to school dressed in appropriate outdoor clothing suitable for the weather including waterproofs and wellies.

Bikeability Training – all our Y5 & 6 pupils will be undertaking Bikeability training on 6th & 7th March. A letter was attached last week – please us the ‘M’ checklist to ensure your child’s bike is roadworthy. Thank you to those who have returned the consent form, we are just awaiting the last couple – children won’t be able to take part without one so please ensure it is returned on Monday.

Football Practice – Mrs Jones has led a couple of football sessions at lunchtime as we prepare for the cluster event at Arkholme in a few weeks time. Another session is planned for 7th March – any children interested in joining in the practice session will need to bring football boots and shin pads into school. Football Boots – if anyone has any spare football boots – in size 10, 1 & 3 please can we borrow these? They will be well looked after and returned after the tournament. Thank you in advance.
