We have had another relatively quiet week in school this week. The infants enjoyed their first forest school session of 2023. They did some litter picking on the school grounds, pruned the willow dome and built some dens in the forest.

Young Leader Sports Award – Upper Juniors – will continue with their Young Leaders Award on Wednesday.

Maths Parents Information Evening Wednesday 25th January @ 6pm – POSTPONED – more details will follow with a new date.

REMINDER: School Trips –
Reception, Y1 & 2 – Wildlife Oasis – Tuesday 24th January –
children in Reception, Y1 and Y2 will be going to Lakeland Wildlife Oasis to aid their insect topic. Payment of £5.00 towards the cost of the trip has been made available on SchoolMoney. The PTFA have kindly agreed to fund half the cost.  A visit information sheet is attached this week.
Juniors – Maritime Museum – Monday 6th February
– all junior children will be going to Lancaster Maritime Museum linking to their current topic of Vikings. The full cost of the trip (including transport) is £11.65, but the PTFA have generously offered to pay £6.65 per pupil, leaving a payment of £5.00 per child, which can be made on SchoolMoney. A full visit information sheet will follow next week.    
We would like to thank the PTFA for agreeing to donate towards these trips and making them more affordable for families.

Proposal to Federate – all parents / carers should have received an email on Monday morning detailing the Schools proposal to federate with Hornby St Margaret’s. If you require a printed copy please let us know. If you have any comments or questions, please spare a few minutes to complete the feedback questionnaire (link sent in the email) before 27th February.

Mental Health & Wellbeing – we are currently looking at our mental health and wellbeing provision in school and have a wellbeing day booked with the YOGI group for 13th February. We would like some parental feedback from parents about this area so we can enhance our current provision, so please find attached a questionnaire. The questionnaires can be anonymous and will be treated with confidentiality. If there are any questions you don’t feel are applicable to your child please just leave blank. Please could completed questionnaires be returned either to the office or to Mrs Jones niccola.jones@leck-st-peters.lancs.sch.uk  by Friday 27th January. In class the children will be discussing what they feel school does well and what they would like to see improved in regard to our mental health provision. Any questions please email Mrs Jones.  

SchoolMoney – there are a number of outstanding payments for school meals, after school clubs and trips. Please try to keep balances to a minimum. If you are having trouble logging in please let me know. Instalment number 2 for Malham is now also available to all junior children, we have tried to make these more manageable and spread out over a few months.
