What a strange couple of weeks it’s been! We would like to thank all parents for your cooperation and support during our recent Covid outbreak. We would also like to thank all the staff who have kept things running smoothly, whilst taking on other roles due to absences. We are hopeful that we should see a return to school next week for all children and staff.

Parent Governor Vacancy – we currently have a vacancy for a parent to join our governing body. Please let Mrs Knapp know in the office if you are interested. Thank you.

Young Voices – we have now been given our rescheduled date of Wednesday 25th May 2022. All children who were initially going will automatically attend the new date. Places (for adult tickets) have been allocated to all who initially requested, please let us know if the new date doesn’t suit and we will cancel your tickets.

Ukraine – staff in school have been thinking of ways in which we would be able to support the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine. If anyone would like to send a monetary donation into school by Friday 18th March we will organise a collective donation to the Disasters Emergency Committee.

Science Week Focus Day – Mrs Mather has planned lots of different challenges for our Science Day on Monday. All children will need a warm coat!

Infant Trip – the infant children will all be going to the Westmorland County Showground on Tuesday afternoon. Please send children with a warm coat and wellies. Thank you to the parent and staff volunteers to enable us to keep this a free of charge trip. A full information sheet is attached.

Infants Beatrix Potter – Mrs Mather has arranged for all infant and nursery children to visit The World of Beatrix Potter in Windemere on Monday 21st March to aid children’s current literacy topic. Payment of £10.50 for the trip will be made available on SchoolMoney. A full information sheet will be sent next week.

Upper Juniors DT Project – please be looking and asking at home for fabric (old t-shirts, pillow cases etc) to cut up and use for your DT project next week. Thank you.

Bikeability Training – has been rescheduled for all of our Y5 & 6 pupils. The consent forms already returned will be kept for the new dates of 21st & 22nd April 2022.

Internet Safety Briefing – Monday 21st March – following Internet Safety Day, we have managed to book an expert to speak to parents about using the
internet safely; how to manage your children’s use of apps and the computer and generally keep yourself
safe online. This will be via Zoom at 7pm so you can even stay at home. A link will be sent closer to the
time.
