We hope you all had a great half term and are all well rested and looking forward to the busy term ahead!
We started the week with our mental health focused “Welcome Back to School” day where we focused on things which bring us joy. The children split into groups and made their way around a carousel of activities, including outdoor bread baking with Mrs Mather, crafting with Mrs Wilson, singing with Mrs Ratcliffe, sowing seeds with Mrs Elliot and art with Mrs Tidd. We hope the children found as much joy in these activities as the teachers!
Thank you to all the parents who stayed at the end of the school day on Wednesday for our “Give an Hour Help” session – the help is invaluable in keeping our buildings and grounds in the best possible condition. We hope to make these a termly occurrence in the future.

School Value – our value for this half-term is “joy”. Assemblies and class worship will be focused on this value and children in school who show joy will be celebrated. Our school value changes every half-term.

Toddler Group Stay & Play Session – Monday 6th November from 9.15am – please share details to any families with pre-school aged children.

PE Kits – please help children to remember their PE kit this week! PE kits can be left in school for the remainder of the term.

Walk 2 School – our next Walk to School of this academic year is on Tuesday 7th November. As always, any children taking part will enjoy breakfast together when they arrive at school. We will meet at 8.20am in the carpark at the back of Cowan Bridge Village Stores.
We would like to say a great big “THANK YOU” to Kelly and Jay Blackshaw from Cowan Bridge Village Stores who have very kindly offered to sponsor our Walk 2 School breakfast! We are very grateful for your support!

Y1 & 2 Maths Homework – a letter is attached to the email for parents of children in Y1 and 2 regarding this half terms maths homework.

Infants – our early years children are on the lookout for a number of things to use in their continuous provision. If anyone is out walking, please can you keep an eye out for:

They would also like to make a coin spiral, so please send in any loose 1p or 2ps if you have any spare. Please bring in anything you may have at the beginning of term. Thanking you in advance.

SchoolMoney – end of month reminders were sent earlier this week.

Infant Spares – as always at the start of a new school year, while children get to grips with new routines, we appear to be having a few accidents. Please ensure children have spares (socks, underwear, tights etc.) Please remember to wash and return any borrowed items as soon as possible – we did run out this week! Similarly, if any older children have items which are now too small, we would gladly accept donations to keep in school. Thank you.

REMINDER: Uniform, Footwear & Hair Expectations – we would like to be really clear on our in school expectations.
All children should be coming to school in full uniform, with weather appropriate coat, hat, gloves etc.
On a daily basis, children need a pair of black school shoes, to wear in and around school, and then a pair of weather appropriate outdoor shoes/trainers/wellies which can get wet / mucky in and around the playground and field.
All children should also have a pair of trainers or pumps for PE, which should remain in their PE kit at all times.
All children, boys and girls, with hair long enough to be tied up, should have their hair brushed neatly into a bobble with fringes clipped back from the face / eyes.
