What a fabulous week we’ve had, to finish the half-term! The upper junior children all had a brilliant time at Young Voices on Monday and sang their hearts out. As always, all children behaved impeccably and were great ambassadors for our school. The highlight being talked about in school was the 13-year-old drummer!
On Tuesday, all our infant children enjoyed their trip to Hawes and the Dales Countryside Museum. They all took part in a butter making workshop.

School Uniform – on both these outings, children were expected to wear their school uniform. Our uniform is straightforward – a jade school jumper, jade coloured T-shirt, black or grey trousers, shorts or skirt and plain black school shoes (NOT trainers!) You can buy jumpers / cardigans with or without the school logo, the same applies for school t-shirts. Items with our school logo can be purchased from the School Trends website: Leck CE Primary School Uniform (schooltrends.co.uk) and items without the logo can be purchased online at most supermarkets, below are a couple of links to items:

Children’s Mental Health Week – we have thoroughly enjoyed acknowledging this national week. We began on Monday with an assembly about what ‘my voice is important’ means, followed by some work using The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse as a stimulus. We created some wonderful artwork linked to this text. In EYFS & KS1 we played listening games and talked about what is important to us and why we are important. In KS2 we discussed actions from others that make us feel like we matter, we made posters about our dream day and a list for the adults in our lives to explain what we want them to know about helping us with positive mental attitude. We shared some of our work and our celebration diaries in assembly.

REMINDER: School Trips –

We would like to thank our wonderful PTFA for agreeing to donate towards the cost of transport for these trips and making them affordable for families.

School Value – our value for this half-term was “peace”. We have focused on this in our assemblies and class worship. This half term in school we have celebrated children who have shown peace in various different ways; well done to our stars of the week
