It has been a relatively quiet week in school this week. On Monday all children were invited to join in a celebration lunch for Roald Dahl day. Children enjoyed Mr Fox’s fish finger wrap or The Twit’s tomato pasta twists. In the afternoon children took part in an interactive assembly about the life of Roald Dahl and designed their own BFG dream jars.
Later today, we are looking forward to visiting Hornby St Margaret’s to take part in the Where the Wildings Autumn apple project. As a reminder, all children do need collecting from Hornby at 3.30pm.
Pupil Data Collection Sheet – please find attached a data collection sheet, please complete and return to school by Monday. If you require a printed copy, please pop into the office on Monday morning.
It is important we have the most up-to-date information, so please do let us know if anything changes during the year, particularly mobile phone numbers and email addresses as these are our preferred ways of contacting you. Thank you.
Infants Forest School – the infants will be resuming their Forest School Adventures on Monday morning with a visit to the wooded area here at school. They will need appropriate outdoor clothing suitable for the weather including waterproofs.
Gardening Club – will continue on Monday for all children interested in taking part. Please send children with an appropriate outdoor coat and wellies. Thank you.
Eco-Club – Hot Chocolate and… continues on Tuesday. Any children wishing to have hot chocolate and a snack on a Tuesday morning should bring in £3.75 in a named envelope by Monday which will cover to half term.
REMINDER: Annual Flu Spray – an email was sent last Friday from Blackpool Teaching Hospitals School Age Vaccination Team regarding the Flu Nasal Spray. The consent process is now online. Please read and respond appropriately. The vaccination team will be in school on the morning of Friday 24th Octoberto administer the nasal sprays.
Uniform – please ensure children wear full school uniform every day, and remember all children need a pair of black school shoes for indoor use and outdoor shoes for playtime (eg trainers, wellies) – these can be left in school in your shoe box as before. This includes all children in Nursery too.
Children should ALWAYS bring a coat for playtime and lunchtime. We do try to go out in all weathers, even just briefly.
Hair – we’ve noticed children have started coming to school with their long hair down. All children (both girls and boys) with hair which is long enough to be tied up should come to school with their hair brushed and either tied up neatly and clipped back from around their face. Thank you.
Lost Uniform – Gabriel has lost a school jumper, it is named. We think it may have made its way home with someone else, please can you check and return.
REMINDER: Water Bottles – please could all children bring a water bottle to school daily following the summer break.
After School Clubs – these clubs are charged at £3.00 per session, this half-terms fees have been added to children’s SchoolMoney accounts last week.
Open Days – we are hosting a number of open days for prospective parents – please share with anyone you know who have children who are due to start school or nursery in September 2026.

PTFA News –
AGM – Tuesday 30th September – the PTFA will be meeting in school at 3.00pm to discuss plans and setting PTFA roles for the year ahead. The PTFA depends on a continual cycle of parent involvement. As children reach their final year and leave, so do their parents. The teachers and headteacher support us when possible, but without all your support, we will have no PTFA. Please do try to come along, especially if you have any new fundraising ideas! The money raised by the PTFA benefits all children in school.
