We’ve had another quiet week in school. On Wednesday, we held our annual Harvest Activity Day. Children were able to take part in various craft activities which also linked to our school values. Children have produced some amazing displays within school and have decorated a couple of windows in Church in preparation for their Harvest service this weekend.

REMINDER: Pupil Data Collection Sheet – we are still missing numerous data collection sheets for children, please complete and return to school by Monday. It is important we have the most up-to-date information, so please do let us know if anything changes during the year, particularly mobile phone numbers and email addresses as these are our preferred ways of contacting you. Thank you.

School Council – our school councillors for 25/26 are:
Y6 – Zara & Freyah
Y5 – Alice & Esme
Y4 – Florence & Freyja
Y3 – Henry & Eirlys
Y2 – Nevaeh & Celia

KS1 multi-skills – all of our Y1 & 2 children will be  attending a multi-skills event at Carnforth High School on Wednesday 8th October. A letter will be coming home today with children who are participating.

Pet Service – Sunday 12th October – 4pm at St Peter’s Church Leck – everybody welcome as we come together to celebrate the joy that pets can bring to our lives.  Whether you have a dog, cat, rabbit, donkey, chicken or bearded dragon please bring them along for a blessing (you can bring a picture if they can’t come with you).  Even if you have no pets come along for this enjoyable, family friendly service. Please note all owners are responsible for their own pets.

Parent Meetings – our first parent meetings of the year will take place on Wednesday 15th October.
Parents are encouraged to sign up on the sheets in each classroom to a time which is appropriate for them. During this time, your child/rens books and work will be available for parents to have a look through. If you are unable to get into school, please phone the office to arrange your appointment.

Reception Children – please can all Reception children bring in a photograph of their family next week. Thank you.

Forest School Stay & Play Sessions – please share with any friends / family who may be interested in coming along. Every week during term time, from 9.30-11.30am.

REMINDER: School Trips – letters have been sent regarding upcoming visits to both the infant & junior class. Please return consent and cash payment on Monday. Thank you to those who have already sent.

REMINDER: SchoolMoney – end of month reminders were sent last week. There are numerous accounts with high balances, please try to keep these to a minimum.

REMINDER: Playground – whilst we adore our wonderful school grounds and love to see the children enjoying them, recently we have found that more people are visiting over evenings and weekends and not taking care of it as we’d like. On a couple of occasions, numerous items have been taken out of storage and played with and not returned. At the beginning of the academic year, we found our new balance bikes in the forest school area, which had been completely transformed – and not in a good way. Please, if you see anyone in an evening or over the weekend using items, please remind them that these are for our children’s use, and it should only be being used to access the footpath.

After School Clubs – Mrs Wilson has been busy with clubs this half term and is looking forward to them continuing after the half term break.
Mrs Wilson has asked current attendees for ideas for the half term ahead but would also be interested to hear from children who do not currently attend, what they would like to see in the future. If you or your child/ren have any ideas, please send them our way. Details for booking will follow in the next couple of weeks. Thank you.

PTFA News
AGM – the PTFA met on Tuesday, the constitution has changed slightly. Mrs Wilson remains with Hayley Fawcett as vice chair and Mrs Knapp remains the treasurer. Jenny Whitwell is our new secretary.
There were some great ideas for the upcoming year discussed and more information will follow in due course. Thank you to all the parents who attended in person and sent apologies – we hope to be able to accommodate everyone going forward with different times of meetings.

Save the Date – we have a couple of events in the pipeline, please save the date!
Wreath Making with Fia – 30.11.2025

Kirkby Lonsdale Christmas Markets – 06.12.2025 – we will need parent volunteers to help on the day 😊
