What a busy week, particularly for our infant class. On Tuesday, the youngest children in school headed out to Lancaster on the public bus from Kirkby Lonsdale – the children were an absolute joy, and members of the public commented on how well behaved they were. We all enjoyed the ‘Toys through Time’ session at Judges’ Lodgings and enjoyed playing with toys from the past. Thank you to Rebecca & Fia for accompanying us on the trip.
On Wednesday morning, our Y1 & 2 children took part in a multi-skills event at Carnforth. There were various activities to take part in, and all the children worked incredibly hard and represented school beautifully.
On Thursday afternoon, KS2 had a great afternoon of Rugby with Coach John from Wigan Warriors. Children were taught how to handle and pass the ball correctly before taking part in some mini games.
Pet Service – Sunday 12th October – 4pm at St Peter’s Church Leck – everybody welcome as we come together to celebrate the joy that pets can bring to our lives. Whether you have a dog, cat, rabbit, donkey, chicken or bearded dragon please bring them along for a blessing (you can bring a picture if they can’t come with you). Even if you have no pets come along for this enjoyable, family friendly service. Please note all owners are responsible for their own pets.
Walk 2 School – our next Walk to School is on Tuesday. As always, any children taking part will enjoy breakfast together when they arrive at school. We will meet at 8.20am in the carpark at the back of Cowan Bridge Village Stores.
Parent Meetings – our first parent meetings will be taking place on Wednesday. Parents are encouraged to sign up on the sheets in each classroom to a time which is appropriate for them, thank you to those who have already done this. If you haven’t already done so, please do come and sign up at the beginning of the week, so teachers can prepare for their meetings.
Forest School Stay & Play Sessions – please share with any friends / family who may be interested in coming along. Every week during term time, from 9.30-11.30am.
Christmas Crafts – whilst it is only October, we are looking ahead to after half-term and the return of Mrs Mather’s very popular Christmas Craft club. This will be held on a Tuesday lunchtime and cost £12.00 for the half-term. Payment has been made available to all children on SchoolMoney and must be made by next Friday to allow for us to order the correct amount of resources. If children do not sign up in time, we will not be able to add on any late additions.
After School Clubs – please see the attached letter about clubs for next half term. To book any of the clubs on offer, please return the form or email me by Monday 20th October to get your child/ren booked in.
Family Worship – all families are invited to join us in Church on Wednesday 22nd October for a short service. Some children are involved in reading bible verses and prayers. Refreshments will be available afterwards. We look forward to seeing lots of family and friends.
REMINDER: SchoolMoney – there are numerous accounts with high balances, particularly for after school clubs – please try to keep these to a minimum.
