Welcome back to a new term, we hope you all had a fantastic break.

 

Infants Forest School

On Monday 9th we’ll be doing forest school here at Leck.   We are focusing on outdoor cooking skills, there will be no school dinner that day.  Please send your child/ren with;

They will also be cooking drop scones which Mrs Mather will arrange the ingredients for.

 

PFTA Meeting

There will be a PFTA meeting in the staff room at school on Monday 9th November at 2.30pm.  Please do come along we really do value your support.

 

Water / Meals

Thank you for your understanding this week.  The pipe has been fixed and the water supply will be sanitised on Saturday.  We should be back to normal on Monday for meals and drinking water.

We have been sent a new winter menu for this term, please find it enclosed with a plan for your junior child.  It really helps us to know in advance meal patterns for your children and we appreciate your payments half termly or weekly as suits you.  If you are in arrears we have made a note of the amount still outstanding.  If you are in credit we have made a note of this and you can deduct this amount from your total should you wish to pay in a block. Whole School Trip to Preston

For our next school trip we will be visiting Preston on Tuesday 24th November to visit the Gujarat Hindi Temple.  This is an exciting trip which relates to our RE lessons on Diwali.  It also relates to our work on Global learning and British values.  There will be an opportunity to buy spices from an Indian Supermarket and for the children to enjoy an Indian meal for lunch.  The cost for the trip is £10 per child, please complete the form at the end of the newsletter and return your payment as soon as possible.  If you would like your child to buy some spices please send a list and some extra money on the day.

 

Samaritan’s Purse

Don’t forget all shoeboxes must be in school ready for collection by Monday 9th November. Thank you in anticipation of you joining with us to bring hope to children and families in need.  If you have lost your leaflet you can print what you need from the Samaritans purse website – you can also make your donation on line and attach a bar code to your box so you can track which country your box is delivered.

 

Football Club

Please make sure your child’s PE kit and trainers are in school for the Morecambe Football Club sports session on Tuesday. Given our ever changing weather, please always ensure your child has tracksuit bottoms or similar, a warm top and a waterproof in school just in case!

 

Reception Class Photos

Infant Cooking Classes

Infant cooking sessions have started again with fresh fruit flapjacks.  This Monday Florence, Elsie and Ethan will be baking.  After this week’s trial we have decided to increase the ingredients to 105g flour, 75g caster sugar, 105g oats, 75g butter, blueberries remain the same at 80g.

 

Newspaper Appeal

We are appealing for old newspapers to be used in various art activities therefore, please raid your recycle bins and send in your old papers to school- thank you!

 

Tower Wood Lost Property We still have a number of items in lost property following the juniors trip to Tower Wood.  If you are missing any items please come and collect them from the office.  We also have some items missing which your child may have brought home by mistake – please could you check at home to make sure you haven’t got anyone else items, in particular a pair of regatta waterproofs and a dinosaur towel.  If you find these at home and they aren’t yours please bring them into school.  Many thanks.

 

PFTA Jumble Sale

The PFTA are holding a jumble sale on Saturday 14th November, 10am-12pm at Frazer Hall.  A great opportunity for parents, grandparents and other family members to have a good clear out before Christmas!  Please give your donations to Hayley Mason in advance so they can be sorted before the sale.  We’ll need helpers on the day to set up and sell, donations of cake and volunteers to serve tea and coffee.  Please encourage friends and family to come along and grab a bargain.  Any suitable items left over from the jumble will be included in the bags to school collection which is on the 9th December.  Jumble can include these items as long as they are in good condition:

Mufti Day & Cake Sale Thank You!

We’re very pleased to announce the amount raised from our cake sale before half term was £118! The PTFA would like to thank all those who baked, spent and ate, so THANK YOU.

 

Infection Control
