Infants Multi-Skills
Please make sure your child’s PE kit and trainers are in school for the Morecambe Football Club multi-skills session on Tuesday. Given our ever changing weather, please always ensure your child has tracksuit bottoms or similar, a warm top and a waterproof in school just in case!
Year 5’s Rewind to Christmas
Our year 5 children have been invited to a “Rewind to Christmas” presentation at Ingleton Methodist Church on Wednesday 9th December. Parents of those children involved will find an information sheet in this week’s bag.
Welcome to Skye
We’ll be welcoming Skye into our infants class in January, she’ll be in school for some visits in the run up to Christmas. Skye lives in Cowan Bridge and we hope she will be very happy here.
Christmas Performance – “A Pudding for the Chimney Sweep” Although seats will be limited for the performances and the hall could be somewhat cramped (!) everybody who requested to come, on Thursday evening, are able to do so. We are, however, asking that the “teenage audience” remain at the back of the hall thus allowing families to occupy the seats.
As a reminder, performance times are as follows:
ª Thursday 10th December at 2.00pm and 6.00pm.
If you have ordered tickets you’ll find them enclosed in this weeks Friday bag, if you still need tickets please do let us know asap, many thanks.
Children will be sent home with their costumes and should arrive dressed back at school by 5.45pm.
If you haven’t already please let us know how many seats you would like by Monday 7th December. If you have pre-school children who would like to watch, and if at all possible, please bring them to the afternoon performance-thanks!
PTFA Christmas Hamper Goodies
PFTA will be holding a raffle at the end of the evening Christmas Performance. Donations of items such as biscuits, chocolates, jams, bottles, gifts and toys will be gratefully received for this year’s Christmas Hamper. Please drop your donations in the decorated box outside the school office. Tickets for the raffle will be available at the Christmas Production.
Swimming
Monday 7th December will be the last swimming session this term. Sessions will re-commence on Monday 11th January 2015.
Bags to School If you have any second hand clothing, shoes, soft toys, handbags, hats, scarves or belts please put them into one of the bags we have put in your Friday bag. Bags to School collect and weigh the bags and the PFTA will receive a payment based on the weight collected. This year they will be collecting from Hayley Masons home, Crow Trees at Leck. Please bring your bags to her home or to the school entrance before Wednesday 9th December. Many thanks.
Christmas Lunch
Don’t forget to order a Christmas lunch if your child/ren would like one. If your child already receives a school lunch that day, then you do not need to complete the form. However, if your child would like lunch that day, please send in your completed form together with £2.20 by Monday 7th December (to allow the kitchen to order). Any cheques should be made payable to Lancashire County Council.
Christmas Post Box
The Christmas post box will open on Tuesday 1st December, for your children to send Christmas cards to each other. Please ensure the envelopes are clearly named with the recipient’s full name and class so our posties are able to deliver!
Messy Church
There will be a Messy Church with Christmas craft activities at Leck St Peter’s Church on Sunday 6th December at 11am. Everyone is welcome.
Parent Governor Vacancy We have a vacancy for a parent governor, please talk to Mr Stafford-Roberts or Jayne Davies if you feel you could fill this role and would like to apply for the vacancy.
Bills, Bills, Bills
Included in the Friday bags today, are outstanding dinner money bills. It would be really helpful if you could also indicate on the bill the remaining days your child/ren will be having school lunch and pay for these as well. Any meals not taken, will of course be credited to next term. Also included in the relevant bags are invoices for before and after school clubs to the end of November. Please pay these by Monday 14th December to allow banking before we break up for Christmas. Your co-operation with this is really appreciated.
Christmas Pantomime!
This year, the whole school will be visiting “Beauty and the Beast” at the Dukes Theatre, Lancaster on the afternoon of Thursday 17th December after lunch. Children won’t be back until 5.15pm that day. The ticket cost for this would be £9 per child but since the PTA have allocated £5 per child for trips parents will only need to pay £4. PTA have also kindly agreed to fund the coach to Lancaster at a total cost of £200, thus significantly reducing the cost to parents. Please send your payments in as soon as possible. An information sheet will be included in next week’s bag.
