Christmas Shopping in School

On Monday 14th December we will be holding a shopping event where children can buy gifts for their loved ones.  Please come along at 2.30pm to enjoy a drink and a mince pie while your children shop.  Gifts are priced between £3 & £5 if you would like to send some money in with your children.  Many thanks.

Christmas Pudding Making To link in with the school play the children will be making small Christmas Puddings on Monday 14th December.  In order to do this fun activity the children will need some small bowls to make them in.  If anyone thinks they have anything suitable then could they please send in as many as possible.

Chapel Christmas Service

Wendy Thornton, chapel minister, has invited families to Cowan Bridge Methodist Chapel on Tuesday 15th December at 3.30pm for a Christmas service. Our children will be performing pieces that day so we are asking children and parents to meet us at the chapel at 3.30pm. Alternatively, we are able to walk children down with our after school club children, if required-please let us know. The service will be finished by 4.30pm.

Leck St. Peter’s Church Carol Service

Don’t forget, there will be the annual Carol Service at Leck Church on Wednesday 16th December from 6.30pm-7.30pm.  The PTFA will be serving mulled wine, mince pies and drinks in the school hall following the service. The PTFA would welcome any donations of biscuits or cakes for the children (homemade or bought!) from any parents that would like to bring them to share alongside the drinks. We look forward to seeing as many of you there as possible.

Party Day!

Just a reminder that Wednesday 16th December will be the whole school Party Day where children can come dressed in their party clothes! This year our party falls on our Christmas Dinner day, therefore there will be no list in the entrance hall to sign up to as in previous years. However we are asking parents to provide some small cakes, biscuits, crisps, small sausages or sausage rolls for the children to enjoy at the end of the day.  Anything left can be enjoyed sometime during the following day. Thank you in advance.

Beauty and the Beast

The whole school will be visiting “Beauty and the Beast” at the Dukes Theatre, Lancaster on the afternoon of Thursday 17th December after lunch.  Children won’t be back until 5.15pm that day. The ticket cost for this would be £9 per child but since the PTA have allocated £5 per child for trips parents will only need to pay £4.  PTA have also kindly agreed to fund the coach to Lancaster at a total cost of £200, thus significantly reducing the cost to parents.  If you haven’t already, please send your payments in as soon as possible.  An information sheet is included in this week’s bag.
