Headlice

There appears to be an outbreak of head lice in school at present.  Please would all parents check their children and treat appropriately.  Various treatment methods are outlined on the NHS website www.nhs.uk/conditions/head-lice

 

Diarrhoea & Vomiting

Just a reminder to Parents to keep children away from School for 48 hours from the last episode of diarrhoea or vomiting.

 

Malham Trip

The final numbers and balance for the Malham Trip in June needs to be paid by the end of March. Please can you ensure the remaining balance is paid for your child by the 31st March. Please note that if we haven’t received payment for your child we will assume you no longer wish your child to attend and their place will be cancelled.

 

Fax/Phone

We have now closed our dedicated fax line and so no longer utilise the Brother fax/phone in school. If any parent may be able to make use of it please speak to Sue in School Office. It comes with a spare refill roll and is in perfect working order.

 

Unwanted Games

We would be very grateful if anyone has any games they could donate to our After School Club.

 

Life Education Bus

There will be a Parents session at 9am – 9.20am on Tuesday 15th March if you wish to attend. The children’s sessions will follow throughout the day.

 

Science Day

We will be holding a Space Theme Day as part of National Science Week on 15th March. If anyone has any ‘space’ related skills, please come forward!

 

Caving

Years 5 & 6 are going caving on either 16th or 17th March.  Please see the information sheet sent home last week for more details of what your child needs to bring and on which day they will be going.

 

Orienteering

Six of our year 3 & 4 pupils will be orienteering on Friday 18th March. Please see information sheet sent home last week for those children who are participating.

 

Sport Relief Day

Friday 18th March children may come to school dressed in their sporty clothes to celebrate Sport Relief. We won’t be collecting money in school but please feel free to donate on the evening to Sport Relief.

 

Tulchan

The Infants are now going to visit Tulchan on Tuesday 22nd March as part of their clothing topic for a tour & discussion. Please see information sheet in today’s Friday Bag for details.

 

Grizedale Forest

Infants are also going to visit Grizedale Forest on Tuesday 29th March to do the Stick Man Trail as part of our author study of Julia Donaldson. More details to follow.

 

Bikeability

Go Velo will be in School on Tuesday 29th & Wednesday 30th March to do Bikeability training to all the children in Years 5 & 6. Please see attached information and parental consent form to be returned to school.

 

Decorated Egg Competition

On Easter Day this year our decorated egg competition theme is “Sport” (to link in with Sport Relief)

 

Easter Activity Day

The children will need to bring in their decorated egg entry. There will be prizes for Infants, Lower Juniors and Upper Juniors. They will also need a hardboiled egg for pace egging in the afternoon. As usual there will be activities in the morning and in the afternoon there is the egg challenge, followed by the Easter Egg Hunt. With a separate Easter Egg Hunt for Toddlers, Nursery and Reception Children.

The day ends with our pace egg competition. Any toddlers that might want to join in the Easter Egg Hunt are welcome to join us at 2.00pm.

 

Shoe Boxes

Please could we have any unwanted shoeboxes (without lids) for our Easter Day Activity Display.
