Arts Week

Arts Week will be running from Monday 13th June through to Thursday 16th June with an exhibition of the children’s work on Thursday after school at 3.15pm. As part of arts week we need some plastic bottles (without handles), squash bottles and anything similar would be ideal. We also need coloured plastic bottle lids of various sizes. Many thanks for your help.

 

Euro Cup 2016

Each child will be choosing a Football team in the Euro Cup to follow throughout the competition. They will research information about their chosen Team and Country. We will have daily updates on the results with winning teams receiving prizes!

 

Summer Holiday Club

Just a reminder to book your child’s place as soon as possible if you wish them to attend the Summer Holiday Club. Booking forms were sent out last week in the Friday bag. The club will not run without sufficient numbers to be viable.

 

Bag to School

The PTFA have signed up for the Bag to School Collection which will be on Friday 17th June. If anyone is having a sort out, please feel free to drop off at school on this date. The following items are accepted:

Adult & children’s clothing, paired shoes (tied together or elastic band), handbags, hats, bags, scarves & ties, jewellery, lingerie, belts, soft toys.

 

QES Dance & Music Performance

Thursday 16th June – pupils are asked to arrive at QES after their school day for 4pm. There will be a “chill out/holding space” available for them to leave their things and get warmed up.  Due to there being less numbers they are performing in the Harlequin Theatre, not the main hall. At 4pm there be a technical rehearsal and a quick run through allowing the groups to feel comfortable in the space and the technical team to check all is in order.  The performance will begin at 5.30pm and last approx. 1 hour.

We will not do a ticket system this year as there are less children so parents will be seated on arrival.

 

Tea Towels

The PTFA are selling School Tea Towels at £3.50 or 2 for £6.00. If you wish to buy please see Sue at the Office or a member of the PTFA.

 

Staff Farewell

Our super teaching assistant Mrs Buxton will be leaving us this summer. We are very sorry to see her go but wish her well in her future endeavours running her own business. We are holding a collection for her. Please see Sue in the Office if you wish to contribute. Parents will see a job advert on the Lancashire vacancies website.
