PFTA Meeting
There will be a PFTA meeting in school on Monday 7th November at 2.45pm, please do come along if you can, many thanks.

Global Morning
Please could all children bring into school a 2L drinks bottle on Wednesday 9th November.  They will be using them to make water filters as part of our Global Morning.

Residential Visit to Edinburgh
Thank you to all the parents who have returned the slip and deposit for the Edinburgh Residential. A copy of the original letter from Mr Stafford-Roberts is included in the bag today for any children we are still waiting for a reply from.  We really need to know next week if your child/ren will be going, so we can confirm numbers with the Youth Hostel.

Young Voices – Manchester Arena – 10th February 2017
Thank you to all the parents who have returned the slips regarding the Young Voices Concert next February. We will be ordering the t-shirts and tickets in the next week, so if anyone else would like tickets to the performance or t-shirts please return the slip or contact Mrs Harrison or Mrs Sharpe for a new one, this really is your last chance as we are working to the deadlines set by Young Voices.

Thursday Dancers
Please could all parents of children going to dance after school on Thursdays let us know what the arrangements are for picking up and whether they are walking down to the village hall independently.  Thank you.

School Hats
The weather has finally turned and we are feeling the frost. Fleece hats are available to purchase with the school logo on for £5 each.  If you would like one please order through Emma Galley, many thanks.

Flu Vaccine
The NHS team will be visiting school on Tuesday 8th November in the morning to vaccinate the children in years 1, 2 and 3 against flu; only children whose parents returned the form will receive the vaccine.

Staff Appointments
We are very pleased to let you know that we have new Welfare Assistants in school, Mrs Moorby is in school on Wednesday and Thursday and Mrs O’Reilly is in school on a Friday. Mrs Tidd has joined us as our new junior Teaching Assistant on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesdays. We are looking forward to Mrs Knapp joining school as School Administrator on Monday 14th November, please bear in mind that until then the office is only staffed on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays.  If you need to get a message to teaching staff on Wednesday/Thursdays please do so by phone rather than email.  Many thanks for your understanding and co-operation.

Boxes of Hope
Many thanks for the 13 boxes of hope received into school, these will join with the Hornby school boxes and be distributed to over 43 children in need.

School Meals
In today’s Friday bag you will find enclosed our autumn menu for your interest. On Monday 7th November we will be starting on week 2.  If your children are not currently having school meals but would like to on sight of the delicious options on the menu, please let us know in the office and we will amend our meal choice sheets to include your child/ren.  They can have a mixture of packed lunch and school meals during the week, we just ask that the days are consistent for example Monday and Friday each week packed lunch the other days school meals.   Feel free to chat to us in the office if you’d like to.

QES Christmas Fair
Queen Elizabeth School is holding its annual Christmas Fair on Friday 2nd December.  The blend of unique and traditional crafts on sale, fun and varied activities for children, Santa’s Grotto, festive music and themed food and drink gets everyone thoroughly into the Christmas spirit.  There is always a lovely atmosphere at this event and this year promises to be no exception.

Tower Wood Trip – Lost Property
Please could parents of infant children check that they don’t have Joshua Lawsons navy waterproof bottoms. They are age 3-4 and may have the name Reuben Ellershaw inside.  Many thanks.
