Walk to School
The next “Walk to School” will be on Thursday 8th December at 8.20am from Cowan Bridge Village Hall. Those taking part will be rewarded with a Christmas themed breakfast! Independent walkers are very welcome to join the breakfast, but will need to be at school by 8.30am.
Year 5’s Rewind to Christmas
Our year 5 children have been invited to a “Rewind to Christmas” presentation at Ingleton Methodist Church on Thursday 8th December. Parents of those children involved will find an information sheet in this week’s bag.
Christmas Performance
Could we ask that all costumes are in school by Thursday 8th December at the very latest. We have a full dress rehearsal on the following Monday (12th) at which time, a photographer from the Westmorland Gazette, will be visiting to take the children’s photograph!
PTFA Christmas Hamper Goodies
PTFA will be holding a raffle at the end of the Christmas Performance. Donations of items such as biscuits, chocolates, jams, bottles, gifts and toys will be gratefully received for this year’s Christmas Hamper. Please drop your donations in the decorated box outside the school office. Tickets for the raffle will be available at the Christmas Production.
PTFA Meeting
We will be holding a PTFA meeting at school on Monday 5th December at 2.30pm. Please come along and show your support. Thank you.
Christmas Pantomime!
This year, the whole school will be visiting “Pinocchio” at the Dukes Theatre, Lancaster on the morning of Tuesday 20th December. Further information regarding the trip will follow shortly. The ticket cost for this would be £9.50 per child but the PTFA have allocated £5 per child for this trip parents will only need to pay £4.50. The PTFA have also kindly agreed to fund the coach to Lancaster at a total cost of £200, thus significantly reducing the cost to parents. All junior children will need a packed lunch on this day please.
Christmas Post Box
The Christmas post box opened on Tuesday 1st December, for your children to send Christmas cards to each other. Please ensure the envelopes are clearly named with the recipient’s full name and class so our posties are able to deliver!
Chapel Christmas Service
Wendy Thornton, chapel minister, has invited families to Cowan Bridge Methodist Chapel on Tuesday 20th December at 3.30pm for a Christmas service. We are able to walk children down with our after school club children, if required-please let us know. The service will be finished by 4.30pm.
Infant Parents
Please could all infant children bring in an empty, clean yoghurt pot for Monday 5th December, we will be making bird feeders. Thank you.
