Friday 12th May 2017

This week saw the Year 6s take their SATs, and we are extremely proud of the way the children have approached these tests. All week they have been mature and positive and we know that they have all tried their very best, which is all that we ask of them. Thank you Year 6 for your hard work.

The following weeks now get busy with day trips, sporting events, the Edinburgh residential and other activities to complement daily class teaching.

Infant Forest School
On Monday 22nd May the infant children will continue their Forest School journey at Capernwray Woods – children will need to bring a packed lunch with them. We need a group of about 3 or 4 parents to volunteer to transport the children to the woods at 9am in the morning and back at the end of the day. A full information sheet will follow.

Water Main Work
Work will begin to replace our water main from Monday 22nd May, which could take up to 2 weeks, and they will be digging in the church car park. Please take care and carefully supervise children at all times on the car park. All children should be collected from the playground at the end of the day.

Walk to School
The next “Walk to School” will be on Thursday 25th May at 8.20am from Cowan Bridge Village Hall.  Those taking part will be rewarded with breakfast!  Independent walkers are very welcome to join the breakfast, but will need to be at school by 8.30am.

Just a Reminder
We have reminded children that ball and toys from home should not be brought into school, the children have everything they need in school and we don’t want these things to end up lost or damaged.
During warm weather please send children with sunhats and sun cream, which they can apply themselves when they need it. Thank you.

Sainsbury’s Active Kids Vouchers
You can no longer collect Active Kids vouchers from Sainsbury’s, but they can be donated to school until 30th June. Every voucher counts towards brand new cooking and sports equipment, and experiences, so it pays to find them all. Thank you.
