Newsletter – Friday 19th May 2017

Infant Forest School
On Monday 22nd May the infant children will continue their Forest School journey, unfortunately we have had to change the venue to the woods here at school, as we haven’t had enough volunteers to help transport the children– children will still need to bring a packed lunch with them. A full information sheet is included in today’s Friday bag.

Water Main Work
Work begins to replace our water main on Monday, which could take up to 2 weeks, and they will be digging in the church car park. Please take care and carefully supervise children at all times on the car park. All children should be collected from the playground at the end of the day.

May we also take this time to remind you that children should not be going through the gate into the car park unoccupied. We have had comments from concerned parents informing us of children running round in the car park after school, which could have resulted in children getting hit by cars.

Edinburgh Residential Meeting
There will be a parent meeting for the above trip on Tuesday 23rd May, 6pm at Hornby.

Walk to School
The next “Walk to School” will be on Thursday 25th May at 8.20am from Cowan Bridge Village Hall.  Those taking part will be rewarded with breakfast!  Independent walkers are very welcome to join the breakfast, but will need to be at school by 8.30am.

Parent Assembly
We will be holding a parent assembly at 2.30pm on Friday 26th May, where children will be sharing what they have been doing this term. Some of the juniors will be taking part in a Spanish fashion sketch and need to bring what they are wearing into school by Thursday please. Could children who have opted to play a musical instrument please make sure you practice at home this week.

Sex and Relationships Education
Some parents have been interested in what is being covered in KS2 this term. There will be an opportunity to have a look at some of the resources being used after the parent assembly as they will be on display in the staffroom.

Mufti Day
Friday 26th May – £1 donation per child for the PTFA. There will also be a Tuck Shop & Cake Sale at 3.15pm. Any donations of cakes for this will be greatly appreciated.

Sainsbury’s Active Kids Vouchers
You can no longer collect Active Kids vouchers from Sainsbury’s, but they can be donated to school until 30th June. Every voucher counts towards brand new cooking and sports equipment, and experiences, so it pays to find them all. Thank you.
