Autumn Term – Edition 3

Baby Mather – Mrs Mather is pleased to announce the safe arrival of baby Mather, born at lunchtime today. We are sure you will all join us in wishing her, and all the Mather family, our congratulations.

PTFA Meeting – the PTFA met at school on Monday to discuss fundraising ideas for the term ahead. Plans are now in progress for a movie night, mufti day and Christmas disco. If you have any tips, or expertise please let us know as we will gladly accept any offers of help and support. The next PTFA meeting will be Monday 9th October at 2.15pm.

School Council – please can the last few school council badges come back to school, no later than Monday. Thank you.

Individual Photographs – the school photographer is coming at 9.30am on Tuesday to take individual and family group photographs. Any families with younger siblings are very welcome to come into school at 9.30am to join their older brothers / sisters.

Nasal Flu Vaccination Years R, 1, 2 3 & 4 – pupils will find a letter from the NHS Immunisation team in today’s Friday bag. They require you to indicate if you are happy or not for your child to be given the immunisation in school. Please return all forms as soon as you can. If we don’t receive the form in time your child may not be able to have the vaccine. Thank you.

Height & Weight Check – children in Year 6 and Reception will be taking part in this year’s national measurement programme. If you are happy for your child to take part, you do not need to do anything. If you do not wish for your child to be involved, please phone 01524 406495. For parents of those children involved, there is a full information leaflet enclosed in this week’s Friday bag.

Nick Barron Golf Club – the Golf Professional from Bentham Golf Club, will be starting his popular after school club again on Wednesday 4th October at 3.15pm. The club will be for junior children only. School will be funding this club so there is no charge for it. Please complete the slip at the end of the newsletter if your child(ren) would like to attend.

Walk to School Breakfast Trek – our first “Walk to School” of this school year will be on Friday 6th October at 8.20am from Cowan Bridge Village Hall. Those taking part will be rewarded with crumpets and orange juice. Please would all parents be aware that the “Walk to School” will only work if enough parents are willing to walk up to school with us.

New Governors – I hope the term has started well for you and your children at our wonderful school.
The Governing Body wishes to recruit some new governors this year. If you are interested in supporting the school in this way or if you want to find out more about what the governors do please get in touch with me, either via school or directly via my email – stuarthemingway@btinternet.com Stuart Hemingway on behalf of the Governing Body.

Labelling Uniform and Clothing – please could we remind everyone to label all their children’s clothing, including coats, shoes and PE kit. As the autumn is approaching it is vital that all children have a coat at school for playtime & lunchtime, otherwise they will have to stay indoors. Thank you.

Dogs – please note, dogs must not be brought onto the playground or school field before or after school. People following the footpath are fine, however all dogs must be on a lead and any mess cleaned up. Thank you.

Weekly Newsletter – once again, at the bottom of the newsletter there is a reply slip to note your preference as to how you receive the weekly newsletter. If we do not have a response by Monday we will assume a paper copy is your preferred choice. Many thanks.

Family Club @ the I-Centre – you’ll find a flyer in your Friday bag this week advertising the Family Club run by Ingleton Evangelical Church on Sunday 1st October at 2.30pm.
