Autumn Term – Edition 5
Staffing News – it is with sadness we tell you Mrs Elliott & Mrs Makinson are leaving us as at October half term, and Mrs Dutton will be leaving us at Christmas, they have all been hugely valued members of the team and will be missed, Mrs Makinson has worked here at Leck for 17 years! We are sure you’ll join us in wishing them all the very best in their new ventures.
Junior Residential – we plan to take all the junior children on a residential visit to Arnside from Wednesday 4th July to Friday 6th July 2018. There is a letter from Mr Stafford-Roberts regarding this trip in all the junior children’s Friday bags today. Please complete the form on the back of the letter and return with your deposit as soon as possible. We appreciate that the trip may seem a while away but we need to confirm numbers and begin payment plans soon.
Walk to School Breakfast Trek – thank you to all those who joined us for our first ‘Walk to School’ of the year!
Harvest Activity Day – thank you to all the parents who joined us on Thursday for our Harvest afternoon tea.
Parents Evening – don’t forget to sign up to the first parents evening of this school year, which is Wednesday 11th from 3.30-6.00pm. The appointment sheets are outside the school office, please come into school and indicate your preferred time. Parents can telephone the office to reserve their appointments if they can’t make it into school. Unfortunately the school nurse has cancelled.
School Photographs – all orders either online or through school need to be received by next Friday at the very latest. Orders can be placed online this year by visiting www.picturemailorder.co.uk and using the username and password on your proof.
PTFA Film Night – the PTFA have arranged a film night for next Friday – Mr Peabody & Sherman from 3.15pm. Tickets are £2.00 and include a hotdog and juice. The tuck shop will also be open selling sweets and popcorn (bags of 20p & 50p). Please complete the slip at the bottom of the newsletter if your child would like to attend, please also indicate whether you will be in attendance.
Parent / Carers Night Out – a night out has been arranged at the Indian in Kirkby Lonsdale for Saturday 14th October. If you are interested please let Amanda Park (07795807564) or Rachel O’Reilly know as soon as possible.
Bag2School – the Bag2School collection has been arranged for Monday 16th October, please find enclosed a bag per child (if you need more please let us know). They accept good quality adult and children’s clothing, paired shoes, hats, bags, belts, ties and soft toys. No bedding, curtains, towels or bric-a-brac please. Bags should be brought into school before 9am on Monday 16th October.
The last collection raised £68.00, let’s see if we can beat it!
Light Party – on Tuesday 31st October, there will be a Light Party at Fraser Hall, Cowan Bridge from 4pm – 6pm. The party will be run by Lauren Platt, the new Church of England youth worker. Children and families are very welcome to come and have fun, do crafts and play games and lots more while learning about Jesus being the light.
