Welcome Back – we hope you all enjoyed the half term break and are well rested and looking forward to the busy term ahead.

We would like to give a very warm welcome to Andrew, who joined us this week in year 6, we hope you will be very happy here at Leck.

Mrs Makinson & Mrs Elliott would both like to say a huge thank you for the wonderful gifts, cards and messages on their leaving.

Boxes of Hope – thank you to all those who donated to our Boxes of Hope appeal, they will join the boxes collected at Hornby and be distributed to children in need across Romania.

School Meals – parents of children who have a school dinner will find an invoice in their Friday bag each week for the cost of the meals (except our infant children of course). Some of you may prefer to pay in advance whilst others may wish to pay weekly- the choice is yours! The cost is £2.20 per day. If you wish to pay for school dinners up to half term, the cost will be £83.60 (38 days @ £2.20 day) per child. Cheques should be made payable to: Lancashire County Council.

Poppy Appeal – from Monday onwards we will be selling poppies and other items (reflectors and bracelets) in school – available outside the office, please give what you can to support this great cause, we would love to see all children wearing a poppy or similar in school.

Junior Swimming – sessions will recommence at Capernwray Pool from Wednesday 7th November, please ensure your child has their kit with them every Wednesday.

Craft Tour Visit – The year 5 pupils have been invited to visit the Highlights Contemporary Craft Tour at St Mary’s Church on Friday 10th November.  Pupils will need to be dropped off at St Mary’s Church in Kirkby at 8.50am, where Mr Stafford-Roberts will meet them.  We hope parents can get together and arrange this, if anyone has a particular problem, please let Mrs Knapp know.  We have arranged a bus to bring them back to school mid-morning.  An information sheet giving more details is enclosed.  Early morning club is available for those who may wish to use it for siblings.
