Autumn Term – Edition 9
Anti-Bullying Week 13th – 17th November – Anti-Bullying Week shines a spotlight on bullying and encourages all children, teachers and parents to take action against bullying throughout the year. The theme this year is ‘All Different, All Equal’, and throughout the week children will be doing some work around this theme in school. All that we are asking to show that children, parents and families are supportive of anti-bullying measures is for children to wear ‘ODD SOCKS’ on Monday 13th November.
Some useful information for parents about what is classed as bullying & how to help your child if they are being bullied or are bullying others is available online; https://www.anti-bullyingalliance.org.uk/tools-information/advice-parents
PTFA Meeting – Monday 13th November 2.15pm in school – please do try to come along, we really do need and value your support. We will be discussing ideas and planning for the term ahead, all new ideas are gratefully received. Thank you, PTFA.
Flu Vaccine – the NHS team will be visiting school on Tuesday 14th November in the morning to vaccinate the children in years R, 1, 2, 3 & 4 against flu; only children whose parents returned the form will receive the vaccine.
BBC Children in Need – Friday 17th November all children can wear their own clothes to school in support of this year’s Children in Need appeal. As usual, we will not be asking for a donation, we will leave it up to parents to donate as they wish on the night.
Payment Cards for Arnside Trip – parents of those children taking part in next year’s residential visit to Arnside will find a payment card in this week’s bag. This is to help you keep track of payments and spread the cost of the trip.
The total cost is £100.00 per child less the deposit already paid if applicable. You can pay in instalments between now and the end of March, or in full – it is entirely up to you. Please make sure that you send all payments into school with the card provided. Any cheques should be made payable to Lancashire County Council.
School Photos – if you placed an order for school photos either online or via school, you’ll find them in this week’s bag.
Junior Class Newsletter – in this week’s bag, the junior children will find their autumn term class newsletter giving you specific information on the focus of studies for this term.
Play Materials – we are in need of coat hangers and any redundant costume jewellery for the Christmas production if anyone has any they could spare. Thanks in advance.
The Book People – have left a new selection of books, they’re in a box outside the office, which we’ll put in the hall at the end of each school day next week. If you would like to order anything, please complete the form and hand your payment to me, he’ll be collecting next Friday. Thanks.
