Autumn Term – Edition 11

Wraparound Care Questionnaire – thank you to all those who took the time to complete and return our wraparound care questionnaire, we really do appreciate it.

Swimming – children will swim for the last time this term on Wednesday 29th November. Swimming sessions will re-commence at Capernwray Hall on Wednesday 10th January 2018.

Christmas Activity Day – on Thursday 30th November the children will be busy making all sorts of Christmas crafty creations and festive delights.

Christmas Post Box – the post box will open on Friday 1st December, for your children to send Christmas cards to each other. Please ensure the envelopes are clearly named with the recipient’s full name and class so our posties are able to deliver!

Walk to School – our next “Walk to School” will be on Friday 8th December at 8.20am from Cowan Bridge Village Hall. Those taking part will be rewarded with a lovely breakfast. Please would all parents be aware that the “Walk to School” will only work if enough parents are willing to walk up to school with us.

PTFA Christmas Disco – on Friday 8th December we will be having a mufti day for Christmas Hamper Goodies – please bring your donation to the office, tickets for the raffle will be available at both performances.
From 3.15pm – 5pm we will be hosting a Christmas Disco, tickets are just £1.00 per child and include juice. We will have sweets and cakes for sale at our tuck shop too.

Christmas Performance – the highlight of the festive school calendar is nearly upon us with this year’s eagerly anticipated Christmas production. As with previous years, there will be two performances; both on Thursday 14th December in the school hall at 2.00pm and 6.00pm.
As we expect the evening performance to be extremely popular, we need an idea of numbers attending. For this purpose, you will find a reply slip enclosed in this week’s bag for completion and return by Friday 8th December please. If you have pre-school children who would like to watch, and if at all possible, please bring them to the afternoon performance-thanks!

Christmas Lunch! – overleaf, you will find an order form for a special Christmas Lunch on Tuesday 19th December. If you child already receives a school lunch that day, then you do not need to complete the form. However, if you child would like lunch that day, please send in your completed form by 4th December (to allow the kitchen to order the turkey). If you’d like to pay now cheques should be made payable to Lancashire County Council, or we will invoice you later.

Messy Church – Sunday 26th November, 11am at Tunstall Church.

 

PTFA NEWS – FUTURE EVENTS
BAGS 2 SCHOOL
We intend to have 2 Bags to School collections in May and Sept/Oct, as they are very good fundraisers.

SUMMER FAYRE
We are looking forward to a fun-filled summer fayre to coincide with the Cowan Bridge Duck Race. This will be planned in the new year.

AUCTION OF PROMISES
Next year we hope to organise an Auction of Promises event. This has been suggested for September and possible suggestions for venues are Whoop Hall/ Ireby Green Café/Kirkby Lonsdale Rugby Club. We have lots of ideas for promise requests but welcome more ideas and promises from any parent/family/friend.

We would greatly appreciate any new ideas you may have for future fundraising.
