Spring Term – Edition 20

Firstly, we would like to say a big thank you to all parents and family for the help over the holidays with building models and research for our science inventor homework. They are really super, well done everybody!

School Dinners – for those parents who wish to pay for their children’s school meals up to half term, this will be at a cost of £63.80 (Monday 19th February to Thursday 29th March = 29 meals @ £2.20 per meal). You can now pay online via the SchoolMoney website or cheques should be made payable to Lancashire County Council – thank you. Any credits from last term will be carried forward as usual. We will send out invoices as necessary.

The Disciples: Our School Worship Team – as you now know, each half term our school has a Christian value to focus on. The value for this half term is ‘Sacrifice’. Each week one child per class will receive a certificate during praise assembly for demonstrating the value in school.

Forest School – it is Forest School on Monday here at Leck.  Children will need waterproofs and wellies with warm socks – please ensure they come with plenty of layers (hats, scarves and gloves too).
As you will have seen, the Yurt is now in pride of place ready for us to use – we would like to invite all parents to join us for a mini opening ceremony on Monday afternoon from 2.45pm. Refreshments will be provided and the infants artwork will be on display from Forest School. We hope you can all join us.

World Book Day Thursday 1st March 2018 – we are asking all children to come to school dressed as their favourite book character and bring in their favourite story to share on the day – it does not have to be the same as their costume.

Parents Evening – our spring term round of Parents Meetings will take place on Wednesday 7th March 3.30-7.00pm. Parents are invited to sign up for their preferred time on the appointment sheets, which will be displayed on the noticeboard in the school hall from Monday. Parents can telephone the office to book an appointment if this is more convenient.

School Vacancy – the school is currently advertising for a Part Time Welfare Assistant (3 hours) – every Wednesday & Thursday – term time only from 11.45am to 1.15pm. Lancashire County Council currently pay the Living Wage of £8.45 per hour. Please share with any friends or family members you feel may be interested. Thank you.
