Spring Term – Edition 21

Firstly, we would like to thank you for your co-operation this week as we have dealt with a week of crazy weather. On Monday, the infants had a great but chilly day at Forest School – thank you to all those parents who joined us for hot chocolate and cookies afterwards. On Thursday, it was great to see everyone embrace World Book Day and join us in dressing up as our favourite book characters, some pictures are on our website.

Mother’s Day Teas – we would like to invite all Mums to join us on Monday 5th March at 2.45pm, as we celebrate Mother’s Day slightly early with tea and scones served by the children.

Year 6 Science Talk at QES – our Y6 children are invited to QES as they celebrate National Science and Engineering Week. This year the theme is Exploration and Discovery. Therefore, a talk has been arranged on Tuesday 6th March at 10am in the Main Theatre. This engaging talk will be delivered by Nick Cox, an Arctic explorer with many years’ experience talking about his explorations in the Arctic.  A full information sheet is included in today’s Friday bag.

Parents Evening – our spring term round of Parents Meetings will take place next Wednesday from 3.30-7.00pm. Parents can telephone the office to book an appointment if this is more convenient.

Parent Help MorningSaturday 17th March – from 9.30am. Parent help would be greatly appreciated at school – with some tidying and general maintenance jobs. We intend to start from 9.30am onwards and be finished by lunchtime. Well behaved, helpful children are always welcome to come along too!

Junior Swimming – the swimming teachers will be doing lifesaving with the children over the next few weeks, so please can all swimmers bring a pair of light pyjamas or a t-shirt and shorts each week as well as their usual swimming kit.

Please can you sign and return the consent form to enable your child to take part, thank you.

PTFA – the next PTFA meeting will be held on Monday 12th March at 2.15pm, at Mrs O’Reilly’s house (please ask if you’re unsure where this is) – please do come along.
At the bottom of this newsletter you will find a list of events which have been mentioned on the grapevine, please can you tick any you would like to see happen in school this year, and also any you would be happy to help organise – thanks in advance.
