Summer Term – Edition 26
This week saw the return of Forest School for our infant children; they all had a great day with children from Hornby St Margaret’s on Monday. Our next Forest School adventure is scheduled in for Monday 18th June. On Thursday, our five Y4 children travelled to Over Kellet to join our Lune Valley cluster of schools for Ethos & Spirituality Day. They enjoyed various crafts in the morning, followed by a geocaching treasure hunt in the afternoon.
Many thanks to all families who took the time to fill out and return our wraparound care questionnaire, it really will help us to gauge an idea of how much “need” there is and work things out going forward; we have another committee meeting in the next couple of weeks where we will discuss the responses.
Infants Williamsons Park – we are all very much looking forward to our trip to Williamsons Park on Monday – please can all children, who haven’t already done so, bring in their £5.00 contribution.
A full information sheet is included in today’s bag, please can I draw your attention to the fact we will need each child’s car seats & packed lunches. Any queries please come and talk to Mrs Mather, thank you.
Infants – further to discussions with parents at last terms parents evening, we feel it will be useful for the Y2 children to have to have a little extra comprehension homework to help support them in the build up to SATs, therefore for the next few weeks there will be some additional homework for children to complete in their folder. For the summer term, reception children will also be bringing home a weekly challenge book with a different activity to complete.
PTFA – the next PTFA meeting will be held on Monday 30th April at 2.15pm, in school – please do come along as we will be organising and planning for the summer term ahead.
The PTFA have also arranged for a Bag2School collection to take place on Tuesday 15th May, please find enclosed a bag per child (if you need more please let us know). They accept good quality adult and children’s clothing, paired shoes, hats, bags, belts, ties and soft toys. No bedding, curtains, towels or bric-a-brac please. Bags should be brought into school before 9am.
Summer Term – as the end of the summer term is always a busy one, with sports day, swimming gala, leavers service etc. we have added key dates to the calendar in order for parents to plan around these.
