Summer Term – Edition 27
This week I had the pleasure of joining the infant class & nursery on their trip to Williamsons Park, we all had a thoroughly enjoyable day. We started off in the Butterfly House; we learned the lifecycle of butterflies and got to see a number of different species, we then went into the mini beast cave – where we got to delicately handle some of the resident animals (the children were all very brave!) and we finished off with a mini beast hunt and found all sorts of creepy crawlies, including beetles and millipedes. A big thank you to our volunteer driver, which enabled us to keep the cost of the trip low.
PTFA – the PTFA met last Tuesday morning to discuss ideas for the term ahead. They have a few plans in the pipeline but would like some parent input please. At the bottom of the newsletter you will find a response slip, please return via your Friday bag, many thanks.
The PTFA have also arranged for a Bag2School collection to take place on Tuesday 15th May. They accept good quality adult and children’s clothing, paired shoes, hats, bags, belts, ties and soft toys. No bedding, curtains, towels or bric-a-brac please. Bags should be brought into school before 9am.
Dogs – please note dogs must not be brought onto the playground or school field before or after school. People following the footpath are fine, however all dogs must be on a lead and any mess cleaned up. Thank you.
School Term & Holiday Pattern 2018/2019 – in this week’s bag, you will find a copy of the approved school term and holiday pattern for 2018/19. Please note that term dates and indeed, all school information including current and back copies of newsletters, are always available to view on our school website.
Whole School Photo – our whole school photo will take place on Thursday 17th May.
Kwik Cricket Competition – some of our upper junior children will be taking part in a Kwik Cricket competition at Over Kellet Primary School on Friday 18th May.
Leck Playgroup Visit – Leck playgroup will be visiting school on Friday 15th June from 9.30am – 11.30am, please feel free to stay with younger siblings and tell any friends and family members to come along too.
Have a lovely, long weekend. Fingers crossed for some better weather! See you all on Tuesday 8th May!
