Summer Term – Edition 28

This week has been a relatively quiet week in school as our Y6 children prepare to take their SATs, the children have been working very hard preparing for ‘the big week’ and we know they will do their absolute best. We are encouraging these pupils not to worry about the week, but make sure they have good nights’ sleep this weekend to help them feel ready for Monday.

Infants & Nursery – please could all Y1 & nursery children bring wellies and waterproofs in next week, as we will be heading outdoors to focus on our mini beast topic work.  If you can bring them in on Monday and we will keep them in school for the week and get out as and when the weather is suitable.

Y5 Big Lunch at Brookhouse Methodist Church – two of our Y5 children will be taking part in a ‘Big Lunch’ as part of the Eden Projects Big Walk Day. The children will get to meet the walkers, hear their stories and be part of their adventure as they set off on the first day of their walk. A full information sheet is enclosed for those taking part.

Whole School Photo – our whole school photo will take place on Thursday 17th May.

Kwik Cricket Competition – some of our upper junior children will be taking part in a Kwik Cricket competition at Over Kellet Primary School on Friday 18th May. A full information sheet is enclosed for those taking part.

Walking in the Kingdom of Light Event – children from Y3 & 4 have been invited to take part in this event, which is being organised by Mrs Sue Yardy.  The stations will include different aspects of the Lord’s Prayer, the seven ‘I am’ Statements and other stations related to the theme and is being held at Bentham Methodist Church.

PTFA – many thanks to the seven families who responded; with a unanimous decision we will be holding a sponsored walk on Friday 22nd June, followed by a ‘Jacob’s Join’ at school – more details to follow.
Coming up, we have a mufti-day and tuck shop on Friday 25th May.

Leck Playgroup Visit – Leck playgroup will be visiting school on Friday 15th June from 9.30am – 11.30am, please feel free to stay with younger siblings and tell any friends and family members to come along too.

Messy Church – Leck Church, Sunday 20th May @ 11am – a short service, combined with activities, crafts and children’s games led by Rev Mark Cannon. Everyone welcome.
