Summer Term – Edition 35
Well, what a busy week we’ve had! Our Reception ’18 starters had an action packed day on Wednesday, and all seemed to enjoy themselves – we look forward to seeing more of them in September!
We also packed our juniors off for their residential visit to Arnside on Wednesday, many of them for the first time. They have all had an enjoyable time and their behaviour has been a real credit to the school – although they may need to catch up on a bit of sleep this weekend! On Thursday, we all went out to Leighton Moss, the weather was beautiful and we all had a great day!
Reports – school reports will be coming home on Monday. Please return the slip provided to acknowledge receipt of your child’s report and add any comments as you wish.
Sports Day – we all have our fingers crossed for good weather on Wednesday 11th July, so that sports day can go ahead as planned at 1.15pm. Everyone is welcome to come along and cheer the children on! If your child has a t-shirt in the colour of their house please could they bring it to wear. After sports day the PTFA will be serving scones, tea & coffee. Any contributions of scones on the day would be very much appreciated. Thank you.
Tower Wood – we will be visiting Tower Wood Outdoor Centre next week, along with children from Hornby St. Margaret’s, the infants will be going on Thursday 12th July, and the juniors on Friday 13th July for a full day of exciting land and water based activities! Information sheets are enclosed in this week’s Friday bags.
Swimming Gala – our annual swimming gala once again takes place at Ingleton Outdoor Swimming Pool on Monday 16th July from 1.30pm to 3.15pm. As usual, the whole school will attend with the junior children taking part in the gala and the infant children giving their support. We have arranged transport to the event but ask parents to arrange to pick their children up from the pool at 3.15pm. Please do keep an eye on the weather, nearer to the time, and send your child with appropriate clothing! An information sheet with full details is enclosed in this week’s bag.
End of Year Bills – if you have any outstanding bills please can you ensure they are settled by Friday 13th July, in order for us to bank in time. Dinner bills are enclosed and take us up to the end of term. You will have received bills today for Early Morning Club that is up to and including today. Any attendance after this time will require pre-payment please.
Early Morning Club £1.00 per child per session.

REMINDER: After School Care – we would like to invite all parents to a meeting on Wednesday 11th July at 3.30pm, to discuss after school care for September. It would be really beneficial if as many parents requiring after school care could attend as possible.
Welfare Assistant – we are currently looking for a welfare assistant, are you or anyone you know interested? We need someone to help serve meals and supervise the children during their midday break. The vacancy is term time only covering Friday from 11.15am – 1.15pm. Please contact either Mr Stafford-Roberts or the office for more details.
