Welcome Back! – a very Happy New Year to you and your families, we hope that you all enjoyed the festivities over the holidays! We would all just like to say a big thank you to all the children and parents who sent in lovely cards and gifts for the staff at Christmas – they were very much appreciated!

Juniors First Aid Club – due to absence the First Aid Club is cancelled until further notice.

KS1 Multi Skills – our Y2 children will be attending a Multi Skills event at Caton St Paul’s on Wednesday 16th January. There is an information sheet in your Friday bag for those parents of children involved. Please make sure the children have their PE kit in school along with a warm sweatshirt and jogging bottoms. They should also bring a named bottle of water. Thank you.

Class Newsletter – all children will find a class newsletter giving you specific information on the focus of studies for this term.

Juniors – later this half term, all junior children will be working with paper mache as part of their Ancient Greece topic, and we are busy collecting resources for this. Any newspapers, kitchen rolls and cardboard ‘insides’ of sellotape/parcel tape would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

School Meals – for those parents who wish to pay for their children’s school meals up to half term, this will be at a cost of £69.00 (Monday 7th January to Friday 15th February = 30 meals @ £2.30 per meal). Cheques should be made payable to Lancashire County Council – thank you. Any credits will carry forward as usual. Invoices are enclosed for the last week of term and this week. Payments can always be made online, but please keep account balances to a minimum. Thank you.

Swimmingsessions will re-commence on Friday 18th January, please remember to bring your kit into school.

Height & Weight Check – children in Y6 and Reception will be taking part in this year’s national measurement programme. If you are happy for your child to take part, you do not need to do anything. If you do not wish for your child to be involved, please phone 01524 406495. For parents of those children involved, there is a full information leaflet enclosed in this week’s Friday bag.

School Admissions September 2019 – primary school applications close this Tuesday (15th January), please apply via your local county council website, if this is Lancashire County Council visit www.lancashire.gov.uk and search “school admissions”.

REMINDER: Morning Drop-Off – we are noticing more children being dropped off at school earlier, and left unsupervised on the playground. If you arrive before the early morning club children come out parents will need to stay and supervise their own children until a member of staff is outside. If you need to drop your child off at school before 8.50am, then please use our Early Morning Club, which is open from 8.00am.

REMINDER: Bishop’s Bible Challenge – please can all children taking part in the Bishop’s Bible Challenge ensure they have returned sheet 2 & 3. Thank you.

Welfare Assistant – we are still looking for a welfare assistant, are you or anyone you know interested?  We need someone to help serve meals and supervise the children during their midday break.  The vacancy is term time only covering Wednesday & Thursday from 11.15am – 1.15pm.  Please contact the office for more details.

The Book People – have left a new selection of books, they’re outside the office, please pop in and have a look. If you would like to order anything, please complete the form and hand your payment to me, he will be collecting next Friday. Thanks.
