We’ve had a relatively quiet week in school.
The children have all been enjoying the wintery weather, but can we please remind children to come prepared (coats, hats, gloves and boots/wellies) so they can enjoy breaks and lunchtime in the snow. Please also take care on the untreated surfaces, allowing extra time for travelling if necessary.
May we also take this time to remind you that children should not be going through the gate into the car park unoccupied. Concerned parents have informed us of children running round in the car park after school. We do not allow children out of the door at 3.15pm unless a parent or carer is present, so no child should be unsupervised at any point.
Safer Internet Day – takes place on Tuesday 5th February with the theme ‘together for a better internet’. We will be working on this theme in our lessons and assemblies.
Under the parent section of our website there are documents and links regarding online safety which you may find useful as part of the focus of the day.
Chinese New Year – on Tuesday 5th February the infants will be celebrating Chinese New Year and sampling some delicious food.
Infants – also on Tuesday, we will be testing how well different gloves (materials such as rubber, wool, leather etc.) absorb liquid. If you have any gloves we could borrow we would be very grateful. They will be returned on Wednesday once they have “dried out”.
Football at Arkholme – parents of the children involved in the upper junior 7-aside and lower junior 5-aside football tournament at Arkholme on Wednesday 6th February will find a full information sheet in this week’s Friday bag. Children will need to be in school for 8.45am on Wednesday morning, ready to get on the bus and set off at 8.50am.
Young Voices – Thursday 14th February – any parents who ordered tickets will find them enclosed in this week’s Friday bag. T-shirts, torches and wristbands are also enclosed for those who ordered. A full information sheet will be included next week.
PTFA – at the meeting on Monday, it was decided that we will have our half-termly tuck shop next week – Friday 8th February. We will also be offering face painting too.
Uniform – as we make the transition to online for our school uniform, we have a few bits of new uniform we are selling off, which are as follows:
1 x PE t-shirt aged 3-4 £4.50
1 x PE t-shirt aged 5-6 £4.50
1 x Polo shirt aged 4-5 £4.50

Welfare Assistant – we are still looking for a welfare assistant, are you or anyone you know interested? We need someone to help serve meals and supervise the children during their midday break. The vacancy is term time only covering Wednesday & Thursday from 11.45am – 1.15pm. Please contact the office for more details.
