8th March 2019
It has certainly been a busy week in school this week. Firstly, we would like to say thank you for coming along to our parents meetings this week, we really do value this opportunity to chat with parents. Please remember if you have any questions regarding your child, you can come and speak to us at any time.
On Monday, some of our Y3 girls went to a special Lent activity day at Over Kellet Primary School, many thanks to Mrs Elliott for sparing some of her time to take the children across and stay with them for the morning activities; they all had a wonderful time.
On Tuesday, Mrs Mather’s gardening club got off to a wet start, however they had a very productive session writing letters to local garden centres asking for donations – we have already had some great responses!
The children all enjoyed our World Book Day activities yesterday, particularly the Where’s Wally search at the end of the day!
After School Clubs – Fitness Fun Club – Mrs Eccleston still has availability at her Fitness Fun Club on Monday afternoons from 3.15-4.45pm. Why not come along a try a session for £5.00? Just let us know in the office if you’d like to give it a go.
Annual Parental Questionnaire – the Parental Questionnaire is in your child’s Friday bag today, please can you complete and return to school no later than Monday 18th March 2019. Thank you.
Infants Fire Station Visit – our infant class will be visiting Kirkby Lonsdale Fire Station on Tuesday morning, a full information sheet is enclosed.
Walk to School Breakfast Trek – this terms “Walk to School” takes place on Wednesday at 8.20am from Cowan Bridge Village Hall. Those taking part will be rewarded with a lovely breakfast.
Infants Blackpool Zoo – On Tuesday 26th March, our infant children will be going on a day trip to Blackpool Zoo to support their Australia topic work! There will be an interactive session that will involve live animals as well as time to explore and enjoy the zoo. To keep costs to a minimum we are seeking parent volunteers to drive and accompany us around the zoo. This will keep the cost at £10.00 per child, as we will not need to factor in transportation costs. Please let Mrs Mather know if you are available to help.
Bishop’s Bible Challenge – well done to all taking part, there are only two more challenges to come after this one! Please can all children taking part in the challenge ensure they have returned any previous sheets ASAP. Thank you.
Easter Sports – Mrs Eccleston is currently organising an Easter Sports event to take place here at Leck St Peter’s during the Easter break and would like your input – we are trying to find out what dates and times would be most useful to parents. Please fill out and return the slip at the bottom of the newsletter for Monday, thank you.
Welfare Assistant – we are still looking for a welfare assistant. We need someone to help serve meals and supervise the children during their midday break. The vacancy is term time only covering Wednesday, Thursday & Friday from 11.45am – 1.15pm. Please contact the office for more details.
Governors – we are actively seeking new governors to join our board – do you know anyone? Ideally, we are looking for non-parental governors, to compliment and work alongside the board we currently have. If you know anyone who may be interested in joining the board, please speak to Stuart Hemingway, either by phone 07706 143 380 or email stuarthemingway@btinternet.com
Thank you.
